Glenn Murray is abolutely no different from 99% of the population.

He has taken up an offer from another club which offers him (as I am aware) a signing on fee and a salary which perhaps we were not prepared to offer. If that club was CP, so what, as I say he will probably be receiving a substantial signing on fee, and as he is now 27, that is not something which he cannot disregard as his footballing career is not endless, so let's not be judgemental about him - he did a good job for us last season but of course sad it had to be CPFC.

If anyone here can honestly say they would have done any different let's hear it.

He is a professional footballer selling his wares, not joined to Albion at the hip, and entitled to seek the best deal for himself which he can find.

I don't , in any way, disagree with your sentiment, I was only pointing out why he may have taken his chosen option !

Perhaps he did not wish to go down that track but felt he had to. None of us will ever know.

The story is that Murray was absolutely skint and up to his eyeballs in debt due to the mother of his child taking him to the cleaners and general poor finance management. The wages offered by Albion & Palace were not too far apart but crucially Palace offered a signing on fee, nothing too serious in footballing terms but significant enough that it would get Murray out of the shit. The Albion were not offering a signing on fee so Palace is where he went. Quite simple really, he wanted to stay at the Albion and Gus offered him a deal for what he was worth, he needed more though to stay afloat.

Playing for Palace under those circumstances make me suspect they will not get the Murray we saw the best of.

It is true, told to me first hand from a source directly involved who shouldn't be talking about it. Some people just can't be trusted with information! Obviously if the person talks I'm going to listen and am under no such obligations.
