Glenn Murray living in Brighton

Next time he knocks on your door, could you ask him to sort the £8k owed so far to the sole trader who's doing his kitchen and bathroom.

The plumber is too polite too ask.

Don't leave it for long, as he will only get 1p in the £. The palarse going rate for creditors!

Glenn Murray is abolutely no different from 99% of the population.

He has taken up an offer from another club which offers him (as I am aware) a signing on fee and a salary which perhaps we were not prepared to offer. If that club was CP, so what, as I say he will probably be receiving a substantial signing on fee, and as he is now 27, that is not something which he cannot disregard as his footballing career is not endless, so let's not be judgemental about him - he did a good job for us last season but of course sad it had to be CPFC.

If anyone here can honestly say they would have done any different let's hear it.

He is a professional footballer selling his wares, not joined to Albion at the hip, and entitled to seek the best deal for himself which he can find.

Let's move on !

Totally Agree!

Absolute tosh. Football isn't like any other job and that's why we all invest so much time, money and emotion into it. It's irrational and defies the laws of economics. It can do things to grown men that nothing else comes near. It can take you to the lowest depths of despair and the highest highs. It creates rivalries that last a lifetime and never abate.

One of our star players chose to play for our arch-rivals and as far as I'm concerned he's a c*nt for doing so. He could have picked any other club. He's a footballer, he understands about football rivalries and he must have known that we wouldn't be happy. He took his money, now let him take the grief that goes with it. And I bet all those being so magnanimous here will boo him as loudly as me on Sep 27th.

I don't , in any way, disagree with your sentiment, I was only pointing out why he may have taken his chosen option !

Perhaps he did not wish to go down that track but felt he had to. None of us will ever know.

Do we care ?

As a Brighton fan, yes. I bear grudges. McGleish, Whiteside, Hammond are 3 players I will always abuse and now Murray can join them.

Oh I say! I reckon that's as comprehensive as any one person can get without resorting to thermonuclear weaponry.

Why the obsession where the bloke lives? Its hardly like anyone's going to go firebomb his house is it.
Anyway we should take it as a compliment he wants to live in an awesome city rather than a shithole.

That's true. Croydon/Norwood, or Brighton area? Brighton every time.
The former is just a place of work for him for a couple of years.

True there is no real loyalty however I DO know the story and if people knew it they would see Glenn in a slightly different light...

Either tell us what it is or don't post it several times in different threads. 'I know something you don't know!'

Agree entirely with Buzzer.

He made his bed, he can now lie in it. A chief of North Korea would not defect to South Korea and expect to be forgiven.

Although, that is not condoning anything other than abuse at the match or a ribbing when bumping into him (Murray, not Buzzer).

On match days, verbal abuse is part and parcel of football. Both sides give it.

I hope anyone who threatens or is violent to him in Brighton, or damages his car, is prosecuted. Beware of CCTV.

The story is that Murray was absolutely skint and up to his eyeballs in debt due to the mother of his child taking him to the cleaners and general poor finance management. The wages offered by Albion & Palace were not too far apart but crucially Palace offered a signing on fee, nothing too serious in footballing terms but significant enough that it would get Murray out of the shit. The Albion were not offering a signing on fee so Palace is where he went. Quite simple really, he wanted to stay at the Albion and Gus offered him a deal for what he was worth, he needed more though to stay afloat.

Playing for Palace under those circumstances make me suspect they will not get the Murray we saw the best of.

How can anybody earning that money get into debt,I live on an oap pension and I'm not in debt...it's called if you can't afford it,don't buy it,until you've saved enough....having a debit card and not a credit card keeps you clear of debt.

If the debt issue is true and his only option was a transfer to Palace, then I pity the poor bloke. Who the hell would want to play for them?

If that IS true I feel sorry for him...... but if he really needed the cash, pretty sure the brand new Audi A5 could have gone, the £8k kitchen etc etc........

It is true, told to me first hand from a source directly involved who shouldn't be talking about it. Some people just can't be trusted with information! Obviously if the person talks I'm going to listen and am under no such obligations.
