Last season I would have defended him against the idiots who said he doesn't work hard enough. And basically, you've really simpistically tried to stick me in an anti-Murray bandwagon because apparently there are only 2 different opinions on him allowed. I'm certainly not saying I'd prefer Revell, or a Revell type player, because I don't think that running round like a headless chicken is what's required.

However, I can't really say much about Murray's performances other than "he's not doing very much". If you want your attackers to wait in the opposition half for a ball to be planted on their head or exactly where they want it then fine, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be successful. There's a reason why Forster has scored 5 so far this season, and there's also a case to argue that pretty much all our attacking threat comes from him and his committment (which isn't the same as chasing dead balls).

Oh, and also let's not forget that Murray did have a couple of crosses pretty much on his head today, and he managed to miss the target every time.

So you are the chosen idiot this week to have a go at Murray. Well done you must be really proud. He was probably one of our better players today and as was said earlier the only one who looked like scoring.

The sad thing is Forster and Murray had no service so struggled as they have done at home all season. Yet Murray gets singled out because "he doesn't run around like a headless chicken enough" effectively. The whole team were poor today so why pick on Murray?

No chance under the current Low IQ setup. If he needs the ball placed directly to his head or to his feet then he'll be a long time waiting under the current regime of brainless hoof n hope. Maybe best for all concerned if we let him go to somewhere where his God-like gifts can be put to better use

now i can't get if you are being sarcastic or not. The 'needs' the ball placed on his head or to feet is wrong but just in his near vicinity would be a good start

Amidst all the ranting about the woeful performance today, our 'Northern Light' Ruby Murray has gone completely unmentioned. To be honest I thought he was just about the worst of the whole team, I'm not sure he even touched the ball in the second half. Now I know what his apologists are going to say, "he isn't getting the service", but neither is Forster and at least he looks willing to get stuck in and dig out a chance. On todays (and most of the season's) performance, he really doesn't deserve to be in the team - unfortunately we have no replacement!

f*** YOU!

Has anyone not noticed, that despite Wilkins many managerial faults, he knew he had a genuine goal scorer in Murray, and played to his strengths and built the attacking team around him, and he scored goals.

We kept the ball down, we got the ball wide, and crossed it in, the ball fell to Murray and he bagged himself 9 goals 20 games.

This year, we give the ball to the centre backs, kick it high upfront or the wing to Cox, lose the ball and dont create a chance!!

Yesterday, we did keep te ball on the deck, but the crossing so so rubbish, Adams didnt know which wing to put Cox on and resorted to putting Richard in centre midfield, and then played with no width what-so-ever.

Can you really have a go at Murray and want him rested when the alternatives are Dixon, Gatting, Gargan, Robinson or Virgo??

We need to sort out the midfield if you wany to get the best out of Murray. Any fool can see that. But the question is can our manager?

The slagging off of Murray is ridiculous.
At half time a guy behind me on his phone was telling someone how "Murray missed an open goal from a yard out". Absolute bollocks of course but why let the facts get in the way of an anti-Murray campaign.

Why is Murray being used as this Scapegoat? The whole team was poor yestaday! And yes its all very easy to point the blame at Murray, But i think all he needs is just a goal in the net and he'll be on a roll again.

But we all know that he can be a good player - some of his goals last season were fantastic, and when he first came he looked like he could geniunely be the next Zamora. I don't know what's happened since then but he just doesn't perform anymore.

I get the feeling with Murray when he's going forward he feels more comfortable with the ball coming in from the wings rather than it coming in over his head from behind.

Getting a bit worried about Murray last season we played to his strengths and he got goals and looked bloody good, this he hasn't looked the same player and for that I think Adams has to look at his tactics. He is starved of chances and the more he goes without a goal the lower his confidence will go. We need to start playing to his strengths

SPOT ON ! .............well said

News of the World summed it up calling us "Awful Albion" and Murray was/is just part of an overall dog turd of a team, not because we are talentless because I think that individually we have some of the best players at this level, but because organisationally we are lacking with no-one really knowing where they fit in.

When Micky has got them playing properly we will start to get results.

incidentally, sounds to me like walsall were restricted to one chance which resulted in a goal while packing their 9 men into the last third of the pitch and closing the Albion down in the centre where Murray allegedly plays best...unfortunately he tries to play fancy football in close to the goal and with 9 desperate Walsall lumps hopping on you that is difficult...not that I was there mind, this is just my view from comments on here.

Murray is a class act who will be off in the next six months because Adams is too stupid to work out why he's not scoring any, both will throw a tantrum (which NSC will debate for months) and he will be shipped him out for chicken-feed to a decent championship side.

He will end up in the Prem in a couple of years for a team like Bolton with about £3m having changed hands.

I appreciate you weren't there, but just to clear something up, Walsall were not restricted to one chance at all, that would be unfair on them. On a number of occasions they constructed opportunities to break and ran at us, Ricketts was a willing and hardworking outlet and (IMHO) they caused us more problems up front than we caused them - with far fewer players. Comical defending in places from us too.
