incidentally, sounds to me like walsall were restricted to one chance which resulted in a goal while packing their 9 men into the last third of the pitch and closing the Albion down in the centre where Murray allegedly plays best...QUOTE]

I appreciate you weren't there, but just to clear something up, Walsall were not restricted to one chance at all, that would be unfair on them. On a number of occasions they constructed opportunities to break and ran at us, Ricketts was a willing and hardworking outlet and (IMHO) they caused us more problems up front than we caused them - with far fewer players. Comical defending in places from us too.

That is true but I don't think Kuipers actually made a save all match (correct me if I'm wrong)

So if they "broke" with 9 men why we did we not then counter-attack?

Playing against a team with 9 men I can only imagine in my head that we had the lions' share of possession, did we not?

Can't remember Kuipers being tested no. I was simply pointing out (to a poster that luckily hadn't had to watch that awful game) that it would be unfair to assume that Walsall had sat back throughout. I thought they were fair more dangerous and creative with the chances they engineered for themselves. Even though Michel wasn't called into any last ditch saves, I was still seriously worried on 2 or 3 occasions when Walsall broke and ran at us.

Because it tended to only be two of their eight outfield players in our half. They still gave us problems though.

Glen Murray is quality and one of the few players in our squad who looks likely to score.

Give the man chance. The service he is getting at present is terrible.

Has anyone not noticed, that despite Wilkins many managerial faults, he knew he had a genuine goal scorer in Murray, and played to his strengths and built the attacking team around him, and he scored goals.

Disagree with that. A lot of the time under Wilkins, we persisted with the 'brilliant' diamond formation - much less suited to Murray's game, and one of the reasons by many accounts that he wasn't happy. When we did get some crosses in, he produced the goods.

Adams, to me, seems far keener to get the ball wide and then into the box from those areas as often as possible. So, in fact, he's the one who's planning around Murray - and the team's - aerial ability. However, the quality of those deliveries into the box is just not good enough without McLeod.

Sorry, but I'm afraid I STILL called him a 'C*NT' today. Bad fan. But he was caught offside about SIX INCHES inside the opposition half. Quality goals tho. Especially the second. And I'm just PRAYING that not a single press camera caught the shot where he just scored his third and he ran over to the touchline where one single solitary Albion fan, straggling back from the shit-long half-time chip queue was on the running track directly opposite the goal and doing an extravagant  motion

This is incredibly childish, but as I've said on another thread, you haven't proved me wrong as I was commenting on what I'd seen of Murray so far. I haven't called him useless, I haven't told him to get on his bike, all I said was I didn't think he was playing well, and 3 good performances don't make the bad performances a few weeks ago any better. I'm delighted to be proved wrong but criticising a player can only be based on what you've seen, just as I'll praise him now.

And I'll say it again, you're incredibly childish.

There was still cock in H block doubting his ability after he bagged his second yesterday

There are a some players who have question marks over them I have never thought or understood why anyone who include Murray as one of them.

I have worried about the quality of supply into our strikers but not once the ability of either of them to finish should the chances arise.

Was pleased for Murray yesterday and hope the chants and support for him continues
