This season, £300k could have bought you (if you could have attracted the player and afforded his wages):

Carlo Nash Preston North End to Wigan Athletic
Clive Platt Milton Keynes Dons to Colchester United
Kelvin Wilson Preston North End to Nottingham Forest
Lee Camp Derby County to Queens Park Rangers

Looks like TYBM has no understanding of the game at all .
Murray is worth every penny as he SCORES GOALS ..something we often lacked in the recent past...and his build up play is better than fans give him credit for

It was certainly a waste of breath talking to TYBM.

The youth of taday eh, or perhaps we are just old gits.

Any one who considers Baz Savage as better than Murray shouldn't be allowed near a football ground.

.................shouldn't be let out of their straightjacket

Fun figure perhaps but Baz won't score 20 goals in the rest of his league career. Murray will easily knock them in nexxt season IMHO

TYBM said "He does nothing but score goals".

Christ, that's shit that is. Imagine a striker whose sole contribution is to score goals. Can't believe we've wasted our money on someone like that...
Funny thing is it's not even CLOSE to being true either.

It seems as long as he gets a good cross in,there is a good chance of a headed goal.It is such an asset to have someone decent in the air up front.

I'd have to agree on this one. How many 'target men' have we had over the years who couldn't direct a header if their life depended on it? 50p heads like McCammon? His one yesterday was probably his best header. Awesome quality running on to it and putting it just inside the post. At times he's also brilliant with his feet, but possibly tries to weave in and out a bit too much some times.

The last player we had that did bugger all but score score goals was Kurt Nogan and he did alright for us. I think Glenn Murray has a lot more in his locker than the nugget.

All to Premier League/Championship clubs bar Forest who are in the playoffs. That's like saying we could have got Robbie Fowler & Christian Vieri for £300k less, completely irrelevant.

Does go to show though, that given the right circumstances you can still do quite a lot with £300k. That said I'm more than happy with Murray. I think next season we will see some further improvement in him as he gets more & more used to the standard of football.

Really??

Nash and Camp are good keepers, but the other two? Don't know much about Wilson to be fair but I'd rather have Murray than Platt.

He'll be fine with a pre-season under his belt. He's hardly settled in yet.

Murray like Forster is okay for THIS Div, but doubtful for the Championship, agreed he is useful in the box but spoils too many attacks by getting himself offside
