I would have challenged anyone to stand at the foot of the Arcadia tower at 2am on Saturday morning and tell me the festival was middle-class.

That tower looks friggin sweet and I can't wait to see it in action. It's at Bestival I do believe so I should see it there.

So you're talking about Glastonbury media coverage, not Glastonbury, the music festival, where an awful lot of people have fun every year.

A lot of people do not realise that the BBC only really cover the music side of the festival...and this is only the stuff from the main stages.

It is very mad when it is at full throttle. Do check it out.

errrrrrrrrrrr you sure ???

My father used to video the festival for me and they didnt seem to cover Lost Vagueness, Trash City, Green Fields, Fields of Avalon, Tipi Field, Kidz zone or the Glade. To summarise my understanding of their coverage it is the main stage bands with added interviews and performances they do in the BBC Glasto studio. Has this changed?

There's at least 8 decent sized stages at Glastonbury from what I can remember (pyramid, other, john peel, queens head, about 3 dance stages/tents, avalon, leftfield) and numerous smaller stages plus cabaret, circus, comedy. BBC don't even cover ten percent of what goes on there.

Oh dear. What a load of bilge water this Middle class nonsense is. Can't understand it myself. Sounds as if certain people on NSC have massive inferiority complexes. Glastonbury is open to all if they have £175 to spare for a ticket. I thought Quo were magnificent, playing alot of their earlier tunes. Those who went to watch them seemed to be enjoying themselves. Neil Young was pure class, Springsteen gave it his all, Madness great fun but my pick was Seth Lakeman(this boy will go far) on the Avalon Stage sunday 21.05. People should chill out and not take life so seriously.

I have always been disappointed by the BBC's coverage of Glastonbury (after actually going there) and their emphasis on mainly the big names on the big stages but as a non attender this year I thought it good.

You are right the real thing even in the pissing rain just cannot be done justice by showing the occasonal whacky moment in between endless shots of bands on stages.

It did make me want to go again though.

Caught the end of Seth's set too, I've seen him loads of times before, but this did feel like a special performance. Did you stay for the peatbogs after? They were brilliant especially when they got more rave less big band toward the end.

Oh and what was with all the FLAGS this year. That's one thing that really pisses me off and there seemed to be hundreds during some of the acts.

They should ban flags.

See, now I like the flags - they add to the atmosphere/uniqueness imo.

If they're going to ban stuff, they should start with gazebos.

Indeed.

Shame they can't set aside one channel for 24hr coverage of live 'other stuff' - would be amazing.

I think some of the carnage which went on at Arcadia is best left unfilmed though :)

But I need a gazebo on which to hang my solar-shower.
