Tongue in cheek comment against the tirade of abuse Hailsham gets on here. Just off of Anglesey Avenue.Gotcha. Thanks TGC.
BTW, what do you define as the posh part of Hailsham? I'm a Town Farm boy myself.
Strange from such an experienced player but you need to be the aggressor in heads up whereas he seems to be waiting for top pair. He obviously knows far more than me about the game but it seems a weak Heads Up game so far to me.Yep, weak play.
That wasn't a limp - call though. That was a limp that was checked. Limp calling Heads up is normally a monster so perhaps that was his strategy but it didn't work.and an example when it works out:

[10D] [5H] limp from tony, [2H] [6D] for erik
[8C] [10S] [6H]... check from erik, 60k from tony, called...
[4D]... check from erik, tony bets 120k, erik folds
For players of this standard, these are the hands that are needed to finish it. Top Pair against second pair and still it doesn't all go in. Worse players are calling Bloom there with second pair and a gutshot.More like it, useful flop!
The WSOP Main Event which has just got down to the last 9 players is by far the biggest payout at around $9 million. But there were over 7000 entries so the odds of winning are slim. The winner of ths tournie wins $1 million which is more achieveable as it is only 100 or so players. There is no massive money to be made in poker tournaments. $3-4 million from a 3 big wins may just be achievable but, again this is one player from hundreds of pros.T.G.C, as it appears you are the most intellegible person on the subject, what is the jackpot or whatever you call it in poker now??
I know very little about poker, am simply interested for the sake of how much Bloom will win, and whether we could be looking at a new striker with the winnings

More money is made from cash games but I don't think Bloom plays those. It is a rich mans hobby for him it seems as he doesn't play many tournies and is strictly speaking an amateur as his income comes from elsewhere. I would imagine his sports betting brought much more reward than his poker.
We need this hand again!Just a shame Erick aint one of those worse players.
