Easier to give up completely because otherwise you have four or five pints when you are out and suddenly keeping your drinking down seems a quite frankly RUBBISH idea and you end up getting drunk.

If you do not drink at all then at least your thinking is not influenced by the beers you have already drunk.

Well I had to give up for health reasons, the fact that anything alcohlic now causes me physical pain is also a factor ! I don't need a whole lot of motivation now.

I actually spent five hours in a pub on Christmas Eve and drank nothing but insipid mineral water. Looks like New Years Eve will be a quiet (but cheap) one.

I never understand the need to drink at home.

That's my rule too - but it's a bloody bad time of the year for us binge drinkers, so much going on and for the first time I'm looking back and thinking I would have enjoyed it all a bit more with some sober days thrown in :nono:

giving up the booze is easy mate. If you want to then you can just do it. You know how much I like a beer but have cut out the drink for 6 months without actually missing it. will probably give up in the new year for a few months depending on when the operation is. Good luck with cutting it out mate although like I said before not having a drink is easy as long as you are not an alcoholic.

Operation, does that mean you will changing the wording under your avatar to 'path of the righteous woman'.

Good luck with whatever it is mate, hospitals scare the shit out of me

Actually speaking as one who knows it can be done as long as you keep a check on yourself. Believe me satnding ina pub for hours sipping mineral water isn't much fun.

I have never drunk alcohol, so drinking mineral water is no problem, if a little dull at times. It does allow you to drive home whenever you want, and reduces the number of ugly women on whom you have performed cumulo nimbus.

With the money I have saved I now have the most comprehensive collection of hard core European pornography in the North of England, including many sought after rarities.

I have renounced alcohol that TASTES like alcohol and now stick strictly to Westons Organic Cider in the Brewery Tap. Six point nine something or other but tastes like Babycham. No, really.
