I need to do something about my alcohol intake this new year. And no, that doesn't mean increase it :lolol:

Is it easier to cut down or quit completely for a month or two?

Methinks cutting it out completely would be the easier option. Any thoughts?

What's your average weekly intake at the moment??

It depends what your social life is like. I gave up for a few months this year, but then realised all my friends and most of my past times included being in a pub.

Too bloody much. Bottle of wine a night, plus pissed most weekends.

If you could cut it out completely then good luck to ya, but i think cutting down first and then slowly giving up is a more realistic option.

I thought I was getting a drink problem a couple of years back, so I stopped drinking for 1 month. I made it Feb as it's the shortest month of the year. :lolol:

It's not too difficult, and it makes getting pissed the following month really cheap, so you save money two months in a row.

Cut the drinking out at home and just drink when you're out or on special occasions.

Think that's probably the answer. I find it really hard to just have one glass of wine or one pint, so drinking at home could end up a problem.

Am often feeling grizzly the next day atm too.

Each year I set a target of not drinking after New Year celebrations all the way through to Easter.

Its an achievable target which will test the will-power - but its not forever ....

I'm going to try to give up in January. I've not gone a month with out booze since I first went to pubs aged 16, I'm now 36. I also want to quit smoking, so the only answer is to stamp out the booze.
I'm bloody nervous about it.

I stopped drinking in the week when I knew I had to go to work the next day.

Works fine for me so far.
