Gave the 2 - not sure why I gav them the extra mark, but the performance has been lamentable. From the start when the Prime Minister boasted about shaking hands with all the Covid patients through to the latest confusion around Christmas when everyone knew the virus wasn’t going to have some kind of truce. They don’t seem to understand science or statistics (how can an algorithm mutate?). Johnson refuses to face reality and just say how wonderful everything is going to be. There is no leadership. I understand this is a unique situation but the question is how well the government has handled the crisis and the best way to measure it is how have they done compared to other countries. I guess that’s a scale from Trump to Ardern.

Cummings should have been sacked as should that Sturgeon women for not wearing her mask and the Chancellor should be reprimanded for doing a runner to Yorkshire. Lead by example..

Cummings yes but Sturgeon? Really? Shes a very formidable and impressive leader from where I am sat and has done a remarkable job throughout this pandemic. Id have bloody loved her in charge, no nonsense, decisive, and holds her hands when she hasnt got something right.

Not expecting high marks here.

I think it might look a bit better in April when a big % of the population is vaccinated. Especially as the rest of Europe will be under restrictions because politics got in the way of ordering enough vaccine.

There is of course the possibility that a more efficient implementation of the vaccination programme in the EU could reverse the situation. We shall see, but it's fair to say that the British state's record on logistical exercises has not been great during this pandemic.

Can I just check that you're being objective here.

If you'd sack Sturgeon for forgetting (briefly I believe) to put a mask on, would you also want Boris Johnson sacked after he was photographed not observing social distancing rules and failing to wear a mask during a meeting last month with a Tory MP who later tested positive?

Gone for 6 a couple of reasons,the slow off the mark point i get but for me the whole of the West has simply ignored the warnings of Bird Flu,Sars etc over the years Covid was just a question of time. Virus experts had warned governments for years so much so i believe that one of the main reasons behind a fast tracked vaccine is that Labs across the globe have been tracking this virus for a long time. Secondly the muddled TV Covid programmes information displays well beyond easy to understand with plenty of waffle. Third the lies given by ministers that could have been checked but never were by the MSM (Jenrick and the PPE from Turkey) all just a thought.

The abandonment of the UK elderly care industry to fend for itself is appalling.

Giving people half price cheeseburger vouchers to help spread the disease during August was short sighted in the extreme.

A ‘world class’ track and trace scheme that rapidly became a laughing stock was a ridiculously expensive white elephant.

Some of the good decisions and schemes (furlough, lending to small businesses) will prove to be a fraudster’s charter and will have to be paid for by the UK taxpayer for decades.
