Quite surprised by this….but at the moment you definitely can’t count Welbeck and Ferguson as two strikers. One of the big issues last season was that Ferguson was over-played. It won’t happen again. And we all know that Welbeck’s game time needs to be managed. Our 3 strikers
Ferguson - injured
Welbeck - will be injured at some point
Pedro
Most prem clubs that have ambitions of the top half probably have another 2 strikers
Amazing people still don’t understand the squad system
Aye. Gross and Undav gone, Gilmour on way. Osman and Buonnanotte on loan, expect Sarmiento, O'Mahony, Ayari and ACD will head off, Moder too. Hinshelwood is probably going to have to be a full back full time to get game time. March may be done, who knows, and top bloke as he is I'm happy to move on from Welbeck. Leaves 8 attacking players with Rutter included and all 8 can be put in the squad and play every game if they stay fit and the coach wants.Well.. like it or not, players will leave. Every team wants to make five subs per game, every team will have injuries. But no one needs or wants 35 players in the squad.
Stop comparing him to the other attacking players. Watch his highlights real. He has every single attribute Fabian looks for to be our number 8 next to Weifer. I think this is instead of O’Riley. He’s like Joelinton but with a lot more technique and skill, his passing is immense!
Why ?I don’t really understand our strategy at the moment. We seem to be hoarding young attacking players, and it looks like we’re going to have to give away one or two cheaply now.

Yeah - I'm wondering whether this could be the case. United were mentioned re : Fergusson the other day and I know they have long admired him. If they make the player and us an offer we couldn't refuse then maybe that's what will happen? If there is a substantial offer for Ferguson I think we'd be wise to cash in, losing Pedro however would be a massive blow and I'm not convinced Rutter would be an adequate replacement.
£40 million?
Plus all the other money the club has spent/will spend.
I can only think someone at the club has found the Cup Final money.
Welbeck has only actually played about 4 years football in his career given his injuries before we rebuilt him hasn’t he? Looks fit and raring to go to me on pre seasonForgetting injuries, Welbeck hasn't got long left so isn't this just succession planning for him?
