And can play a very settled team. Makes a big difference. Not a 7-0 difference, but we can't grow any partnerships anywhere on the pitch.
Hence I’m not an ‘out’. He and the new players will be fully judged next season. It was always going to be a big ask for everyone to hit the ground running and the injuries have been awful.

The players on the pitch know each other well enough.
There were at least 3 very well seasoned top flight pro's in JV,LD & DW on the pitch.
the lack of cohesion is inexcusable.

That's on the manager getting it wrong or the players not doing what they've been asked . . . . After last weeks performance I really didn't expect the same shit.

Hmm You say that about Bart but his consistent errors leading to goals should not be going under the radar. In the context of today's game it didn't matter but he keeps doing it.
I agree but to be fair to FH had he started with Rushworh he would even more slaughtered.

This would be a fair comment if there was any tangible evidence of what he is actually trying to do. With RDZ and Potter no whether the injury situation the identity didn’t change. We have zero identity. I literally can’t see what we are trying to do.

So playing one in CM was suicidal and we shipped three goals, we change to 2 CMs in the second half and ship four goals - dammed if you do or dammed it you don't!

Left Back

Who would you pick from our recognised Full Backs:

Lamptey
Veltman (needed at Right Back)
Estupinian - Injured
Igor - Injured
Hinsh - (needed at CM) not match fit
Kodioglu - Injured
Milner - Injured
Solly (at a push) Injured

What do you do with CM?

Baleba - ill/Injured
Ayari - ill/Injured
O'Reilly - not match fit
Gomez - not match fit
Hinsh - not match fit
Milner - Injured
Weiffer - Injured
Gruda - not a recognised CM
Joe Knight - fit

and what formation would you have played?

So if we are going to sack a Manager who on paper has only lost 6 out of 24 EPL games (25%) and has us at mid table, which is the stated aim, who will you replace him with?
Spot on.

And we’re obviously not going to sack Fab and people need to give their heads a wobble.

I think your last para is the one that people do really need to focus on when the dust has settled on today and emotions have calmed. However, there are some serious questions to be asked about tactics notwithstanding how we are continually hamstrung by the parade of injuries. For me my underlying concerns are that I'm not sure I know what type of football we are trying to play and he has no idea of his best team.
Fab also looks completely lost in the dugout...I'm not sure he knows what type of football we are trying to play either...

I'd have taken a look at our depleted squad and set up to be difficult to beat and perhaps nick one on the counter.
Yes, that would be what a good manger would do. You have to understand your limitations, setting up so attack minded was never going to work unless we scored early and then dropped in. So at 1 nil down at the most he had to give the team a chance and he didn't, he left it to 3 nil, so rolled the diced big style. He was to slow to act in a kamikaze setup.
The blame goes on one man tonight.

Ah yeah I forgot we were pushing for Europe last season when we finished 11th.

Not to mention we're still in the race for Europe this season.
It’s interesting you say that as last season, and I’ve been reminding people we lost 0-4 away at Luton exactly a year ago, but this season we’re only 1 point worse off than at the same stage last season.

1 point.

Sacking the manager isn’t going to happen. Tony hasn’t ever done it within a season and don’t think he’ll do it now.

1 point off with (somehow) a worse injury crisis.

Hopefully this year our manager doesn't give up.

That’s a very generous point of view, with regard to the manager.
Gomez and O’Reilly could have reinforced the midfield or play with an extra defender.
It may not have been enough but at least it would have made sense in the difficult circumstances, unlike the starting XI which was guaranteed to fail.
Exactly.

Move JPvH into midfield and play Webbo.
Play 3 CBs…..
Start with all the fit midfielders - make changes at 60 mins….

There are a few different things that could have been tried rather than the ridiculous starting formation…..
