I couldn't get on with GIMP when i tried it , bought a legit copy of LR 5 and I use that and find it very intuitive. I won't use a subscription service as i think they are expensive for my needs.

So I went to see if I could find the endangered Crested Ibis at the weekend, which is about 2 hours away from where I live in China. These amazing birds can only be found in the wild in this one place in the world. I was really lucky to see about 25 of them at various times throughout the day and even found a nest with a pre-fledged juvenile and parent in it. I hope you like them.

Perfect focus, with the main subject sharp and others slightly out. Great shots. What lens did you use and what aperture (f number) was the camera set at?

I used a Canon 70-200 f2.8 lens with a x1.4 extender.
The lowest f-stop when the extender is added is f4, which is what this photo is.

I'm itching to get a 100-400mm lens for cricket but can't really justify it.
My 70-200mm is great for non-league football particularly when the floodlights aren't very strong.

Not the best photo as it was on my phone, but the subject matter fascinates me. Often see ladybirds and especially Cardinal beetles at it, but I think this is the first time I've seen hoverflies giving piggy backs.
