Have you got a link to show that your Sigma 105 doesn't have a motor, or that your Canon does?Auto focus. It's actually an old lens that Sigma "chipped" to work with digital cameras. My 70D drives it via the usual contacts, same as any Canon lens.

Then the lens has got a motor in it.Sorry, no, I don't know the technical details, only that it works (ie. I use it) the same way as my Canon lens.
