Please release me.
I think it would be better if the lock and the bark were both sharp.

The shot of the girl is front focused (ie, the focus is on a bit of her hair, but should be on here eyes).

With the seascape try and avoid having the horizon in the middle - move it about a third from the top of bottom of the frame. And the same with the sun, move that a third from the left or right of the frame. Straighten your horizon with software too. Practice will make perfect.

They make the best subjects. Are you using a dslr or similar? You've got a nice shallow depth of field, just set up the camera to have 1 focus point, and move that to the right place in the frame, then keep it on her eye (whichever eye is closest to camera).

For some reason I love close up photos, not sure why...

Agreed, if the eyes were in focus that would be a cracking picture.

It's all relative mate. It's like art...what is good for some is rubbish for others. Love the photo of the little'un.

Jack Straw and myself spend ages talking about photography, although he is a lot more in to it than i am. I'm trying to persuade him to put more photos on here....he thinks he'll "flood" the thread with them where in truth, people enjoy looking at them.

It's Chocolate....

I think ?

But yes your right, some sick people who could make anything out of that.

sorry
No that's not what I meant at all - I just meant that it wasn't flattering. It's the sort of picture used to blackmail a naughty 18 year old daughter with :)

I got worse...........

That's what happens sometimes with a single click - you capture an odd expression. If you have a rapid fire function on your camera then use it.

0.1 seconds later, may have been the perfect pose.

You're absolutely right. If I'm passing it again soon, I'll take another one with the f number increased.

Spadge - great image. Can you give me a simple guide on how you do the b&w/colour process in Photoshop?

Yeah sure, pretty easy really.

Just use the selection brush to highlight the area you want to keep in colour (Make sure you zoom in etc to ensure you have selected all the bits you want and removed all the bits you don't)

Once selection is complete select Inverse selection, this will then select everything outside of your selection.

Then choose convert to black and white

Its that simple really,, you can then add vinegettes and other effects until your please with your end result.
