I went a took some pics this morning before the rain.

A bit of both, a very cloudy morning before the rain so higher iso ( I was using manual with an auto iso), I liked the effect as I was post-processing.

Also possibly to do with my zoom being at its limit and then zooming in post production.

Still learning about all this stuff so lets call it experimentation and a happy accident

So having become fixated with macro photography I have bitten the bullet and made the full jump from Nikon to what is now OM Systems (previously Olympus). OM-1 Mark II and 90mm macro lens arriving tomorrow. Very very excited.

Haha no definitely a butterfly. I wondered moth at first but it held it's wings upright.

Having looked a bit closer, I think it is actually an Essex Skipper as it has a black tip on the antennae.

I presume an Essex Skipper is more widespread than just Essex? The picture was taken in my mother in law's garden in Lancashire.

Small Skipper

Bright orange-brown wings held with forewings angled above hind wings. Males have a thin black line through the centre of fore-wing. Essex Skipper is similar but has black tips to the antenna (best-viewed head-on) and shorter scent brand which runs parallel to forewing edge rather than angled...

This morning, I went to a local photography group session about street art photgraphy. Cost me $50 and would have liked some more instruction. Still good to meet others ad get out and about.
