Rayner mixed up 'abject' with 'abstract', i.e. you have an abstract record on the NHS. I picked up on this - it shows that she is not leadership material but she is direct, plain-speaking, she will fight her corner and is maturing as a debater. I think the days of her shouting 'Tory scum' are over; Mordaunt did try to goad her without success.

And anyway, Wes Streeting looks to me like the next leader of the Labour Party.

I like the way Wes talks about the NHS and he ‘talks the talk’ with his views of not worshipping at its shrine etc. However, it remains to be seen whether he will be able to ‘walk the walk’, when it comes to implementing reforms and also dealing the strongest trade union in the country. If he passes that test, and I hope he does, then he will have proved himself a politician of stature.

I think it’s going to be worse than predicted. In one move Sunak managed to alienate vast swathes of vets and military personal. When labour are the safer bet than the Tories for the mili then you know the Tories are toast.

Those sort of language mistakes offend me far less than people saying ‘Dave and I’ when they mean ‘Dave and me’.

I literally shout the correction at the TV or radio when I hear the subject/object being mixed up.

This is on the upper end of the plotted Conservative share, not impossible but very ambitious. Especially in a campaign where the Conservative Party are struggling to make a dent in their deficit to Labour.

Normally the gap would narrow. But despite the media doing it's best, I really think the public have had enough of them in a way that will spark catastrophe.

Is this a protest, one-issue thing such as when many in the Red Wall lent their votes to the Cons to get Brexit done? Or are there actually Reform polices rather than personalities you find attractive? What do the Tories need to do to get your vote back in 2029?

What is often omitted is that Sharia Law is allowed in the country but only on the basis that it doesn't conflict with UK laws. It's the same with any rules. When a person goes to the AMEX they agree to abide by certain terms and conditions on their ticket. Some of these may have no standing in law (no bottle tops....). That's fine. It is enforceable as there is no UK law saying that bottle tops cannot be banned at a football ground and it does not conflict with UK law either.

Most Reform voters like the policy of being given a grouo of people - eg the EU or brown-skinned foreigners - to blame for all the stuff not going so well in their lives.

Tim Montgomerie suggested in an interview once the Tories have lost there will be a larger number of Tories demanding Farage on the ballot for the next leader.

He seems to think talks are already taking place.

I'm sure that will get some of their voters back, but will also lose a large number.
