Oh please. From the point of view of having an unbiased interview to learn about the choices we have, what's the point in a socialist interviewing and praising Miliband and laying into Cameron? The whole point about interviews are that they're unbiased. It wasn't that Miliband handled it well, there was nothing to handle, he was preaching to the choir.

Yes I agree, it was basically a party political broadcast. I don't blame Ed at all for taking the opportunity, but I will criticise anyone stupid enough to think it was meaningful in the context of the upcoming election.

I don't think anyone is seeing this as a rigorous interview...and maybe not even as an interview. It's an outlet/platform to get a message across, the social media version of a newspaper column I guess. That said, it's telling that certain quarters are yet again getting their knickers in a twist.

Labour are going to wiped out in Scotland, Conservatives are only going to lose to UKIP, points at another coalition with whoever is going to work (be blackmailed) with the 50 plus SNP's. Unlikely to be Conservatives so probably will be a Labour coalition which will run for about two years before it all goes wrong and another election will be called.

No it isn't. Labour and the Conservatives have different policies. Choose the one that has the policies you like. That message, and whether or not anyone gets their knickers in a twist makes no difference.

But they won't....3.5% evenly without even prompting for name of the incumbent Tory is actually a POOR result & leads me to think maybe 15-20
Tories are now 1/4 for most seats and still no'one wants the Reds even at 3/1...

Ashcroft poll in Sheffield Hallam has Labour with a 1% lead (2% last month) but there is evidence that Conservative voters are switching to vote tactically for the LibDems.

I appreciate its constitutional, but I'm still trying to reconcile how a party (SNP) that only 6% of the electorate are eligible to vote for, can potentially get 50 odd seats with a 2-3% share of the national vote and then use those seats to support a minority party in government. Especially when their leader isn't an even elected MP. Alex Salmond was banging on about democracy on the radio today, but that set of circumstances - which is a very real possibility - is about as undemocratic as you could possibly engineer.

Would love to hear Labour's 'strategy'!

Even the most biased individual could see that leaders like Thatcher and Blair had a strategy and all tactical announcements were steps towards it
With this government we had the big society ( where did that go), swingeing cuts to clear the deficit which was abandoned when a second recession looked imminent meaning clearing the deficit didn't happen, immigration targets not met and dropped etc

You could argue the only ones to get a strategy through were the link dems with higher personal tax allowances, pupil premium and free school meals for ks1

"only". when you consider there losses in Scotland, that means they have to make up 60+ seats in England (assumes the Welsh seats stay static). Blair did that, but Miliband has distanced himself from that period, so im not sure how he's going to do it on his own. whats looking increasingly likely is Miliband as PM with minority government needing SNP and Liberals to pass anything. you can see why theres short odds on another election this year.

Whilst it would be stupid to trust any politician, doesn't it make it even harder when a politician announces that he will need to pass a law to ensure that he keeps a promise! Cameron has stated that he will pass a law ensuring that taxes for working people aren't increased before 2020. He can only pass the law if he is in government and therefore surely if he is in government, he merely has to make the decision not to increase taxes? That said, he could make the law, encounter economic problems, possibly out of his control, that require a more money and therefore make a new law scrapping the first!

He has criticised Milliband for is interview with Brand, describing it as a joke, but isn't his statement even funnier because he meant it to be serious?
