The Guardian do say that, but it really is hypothetical numbers and I think both the SNP and Labour (esp Labour TBH) would want to avoid. It would be so fragile, one by election loss could tip the balance, you have to make sure every single time on every single vote that 323 goes through that lobby.

Refering to 1992 as you have been. Do you remember Major got a majority of 20 (dream land for Lab/Con today) in the end and his situation started to crumble because of by election losses and the "bar stewards" on his own back bench...and they supposedly were on his side! When I think of that it actually is quite staggering that this Con/Lib coalition has stayed as firm as it has.

Yes indeed he was propped up brother unionists. But that was in the days of a max 20 or so MPs outside of the 3 main parties.

The coalition was fat cleverer in that they lost loads of votes but nudged through most things on the back of the coalition agreement and amending existing legislation. Also dont forget that Cameron deferred the European question that would have split his party from top to bottom. Major didn't have that luxury

So RB is a socialist, and agrees with Miliband that Labour are better than the Tories - wow, hold the front page!

Dave is right to call him a joke. He's purporting to be conducting a political interview, but he's not, he's just bigging up Labour, because he's left wing. It's pointless.

has dave had an interview with R/B yet or maybe he won't be able to face awkward questions
I thought E/M handled it very well

Not long to go now people - Conservatives and Labour Tied [Election 2015]

Paddy Power still going 9/4 Tories to end Farages' career. Others shortened Blues to 6/4 to 11/10 just now following Ashcroft poll showing Blues now 2 points clear + counting. Fill yer boots

this and dave calling Russel Brand a joke could rebound, dave does not realise how R/B is listened to by the youths of today, but then as I have said before the tory is not a party for the young
I think R/B is in danger of becoming a real socialist and maybe could even be drawn into the cabinet ,he is a real political animal

Well, if they really had been listening to him, they wouldn't have registered to vote - as he told them not to vote because it was all a capitalist game.

At least Ed goes out and talks to people. Unlike Cameron who seems to limit his public scrutiny to school kids and even then he gets tied up in knots.

I would have thought Cameron would have leant his lesson about dismissing people as a joke....he shat his pants and was forced into declaring a referendum when the last "joke" stated gaining in the polls.

Latest from the Tories in a law to stop VAT, Nat Insur and income tax rising in the next 5 years. We can add that to the ring fencing the education, the triple lock on pensions and all the extra wonger on the NHS

Someones gonna get hurt if they win, wonder who?

Post manifesto this just stinks of desperation. He knows the game is up.

Dave wont enter any arena that he cant control and that would lead to him being outside his stage managed comfort zone; as witnessed by his non appearances in the leaders debates and his refusal to debate directly with Ed Miliband. The one rare occasion where he did recently he got torn a new one by listeners of Radio 1!

Russell Brand is a joke. I for the life of me can't even begin to work out while this fake has any political credibility. He must look up a big word and say it's over and over again until it's sticks in his head. He talks total Bollocks. If the young of this country look up to him then god help us. He's just a chancer who's jumps on a bandwagon to get HIMSELF noticed. He doesn't really give a shit about anyone or anything except himself.

Pipe down Grandad :lolol:

It was a smart choice. It won't cost him any vote and it's a great platform to get him message across.

Ha, haven’t seen that one!

Regardless of what you think of tory policies, the thought of Dave representing Britain in potentially difficult meetings around the world, often with contrary views to distinguished and experienced politicians, should be enough to put even the most die-hard of tory fans of voting for them!

On the last day to register to vote , 485k people registered , the Electoral Commission said 426k were in the 18-34 age bracket. Now they're registered and more likely to watch the YouTube video they could be listening to his advice.

Oh please. From the point of view of having an unbiased interview to learn about the choices we have, what's the point in a socialist interviewing and praising Miliband and laying into Cameron? The whole point about interviews are that they're unbiased. It wasn't that Miliband handled it well, there was nothing to handle, he was preaching to the choir.

It was a smart choice. It won't cost him any vote and it's a great platform to get him message across.
Yes I agree, it was basically a party political broadcast. I don't blame Ed at all for taking the opportunity, but I will criticise anyone stupid enough to think it was meaningful in the context of the upcoming election.

I agree with you. Just like some of the BS printed in the daily hate will have an impact of some of those stupid enough to read it.

Thanks, it's nice to be called a lefty....

I work in a business where we define redundancies as efficiency saving. Its just semantics.

My comment on price and value relates to the leader of the Conservative and unionist party, doing his best to stir up hatred between England and Scotland/Europe or whoever in order to save his skin. It's short term gain for long term pain. This from the worst strategic pm in recent history. There is no long term strategy, just loads of tactical wriggles

And I write this as someone who, on paper would be a natural tory voter

Would love to hear Labour's 'strategy'!

Will Titanic be posting this sort of information, which is key to how the election unravels: the top 50 CON-LAB marginals:

http://www.comres.co.uk/polls/itv-news-conservative-labour-battlegrounds-poll/

The latest ComRes / ITV News Battleground poll has studied the fifty most marginal Conservative-held seats where Labour were second at the last election, and results show that Labour lead the Conservatives by three points across these seats. Labour currently stand at 40% in these key battleground seats, with the Conservatives on 37%.

This represents a swing of 3.5 points from the Conservatives to Labour, and will boost Ed Miliband and his “happy warriors” on the Labour campaign team as they enter the final days of canvassing the electorate. If these results were replicated on election day and if there were a uniform swing across all these constituencies, it would see Labour win forty of the fifty seats.
