It might be out of step...but it suits our resident LEFTIE to quote....desperation is indeed still alive because he has convenietly forgotten the mess Labour left us in last time.
So what about the mess left behind by the previous Tory government. Give them all longer than 8 years then any party screws up which is why our political system needs to change.
Who else remembers stock market crashes, recessions of the 80s and 90s and in particular the huge increase in interest rates during the 90s that left a record number of repossessions.
Thankfully the last Labour government had the balls to remove interest rate changes from the responsibility of the Chancellor of the Exchequer otherwise the most recent recession would have been far far worse than anyone else could have imagined for homeowners.
In addition by blaming the last government for the recession which whilst is partially true, still deflects from the cold hard fact that regardless of policy, the recession would still have occurred as it has done across the world. The Right wing conservative press love peddle the "last labour governments fault" with every political story.
Don't be fooled in to thinking that it would have been any different regardless of who was responsible for running the country before 2010!
The difference is, The Labour government spent any spare cash we had.

Out of date, why bother ?

I would hope that the SNP acted in a principled way. They have complained bitterly that the current government is virtually unsupported in Scotland and that it is a grossly unfair circumstance. It would be ironic that a party that has zero support or influence in England, Wales and northern Ireland became the tail that wagged the dog.The SNP will see that Ed is leading the nation next May. The rest is just details.
I would hope that the SNP acted in a principled way.
Not out of the question that Alex Salmond will be the next deputy PM
