Good point. I discused this with a virology prof pal of mine some weeks ago. He said that some labs have been 'handed over' but he's in no position to know what's going on there. I just checked online and the last announcement about labs at my place bing used for Covid testing was in April. Judging by my experience of how things work here nobody will know or be inclined to say how much testing is happening, but I will make some inquiries.

The daft thing is, either Bodge Job & Hancock are lying, or whoever is feeding the data into the Governments own website is lying.

According to this we have capacity for just under 370,000 tests (all pillars) and just under 250,000 (Pillar 1, 2 & 4 which excludes antibody tests so currently infected). Yet we are only processing about 175,000 tests per day.
Surely if things are as bad as being made out with trying to arrange a test, we should be processing at near capacity, not some 75,000 - 195,000 under this?

Because, as has become blindingly apparent, one is the number of tests that can be done in a day, and the other is a lie used to try and garner support and muddy the waters for a Government in complete disarray

Hancock says about 25% of those coming forward are not eligible.
I can't believe that many people are just getting tests for the sake of it.
I think those that fear it, will now fear it even more.

But that still doesn't take into to account the we're at least 75,000 short of capacity for processing tests.
RE Those arranging tests that are not eligible. Were they (Hancock et all) also not encouraging people in hot sports to arrange a test if they were identified as a close contact a while ago? I can't remember.

You really can't get your head around the idea that it is about the complete and utter incompetence of Boris Johnson and not a Red v Blue thing. I would have much rather had either of the first two (also both Tories) but Brexit put paid to that and got Johnson into power
