Looks like Uncle Tony will have to really push the boat out to make him our marquee signing in the Premier League next season, as he has signed a contract extension at Real Madrid that includes a €1bn (£900m) buyout clause.

I hope Gareth is able to get by on the £600k a week that he is now on.

Fair play to the boy. He doesn't set the going rate, however obscene. He's conducted himself with dignity, pretty much the model professional, kept his head down and got stuck in, despite some pretty fierce levels of criticism at times. Plus he has to carry the Welsh national team in his spare time.

There's some Portugese bloke that's apparently quite good as well, Christyarghno Ronhaldio or something...
He wasn't even part of the team that won the Euro final.

Good career move from the Welshman. This says a lot about the state of Man Utd who have been coveting Bale for years.

I'm sure if Utd were anything like the team of old under Fergie then Bale would come back to the Prem but they're in a mess and likely to remain so for a year or two yet.

I take it you never watched the game then? :dunce:
Well I did, and I'm getting at the fact that the team he was in weren't winning and didn't win. The team after he'd gone won.

I honestly thought this was an impossible sentence:-

'For god sake man, put the topknot back in place'.
