600k a week according to the BBC Sport site. How obscene is that for a player who hardly plays now. On contract until 2022 and according to him, Real are making it very hard for him to leave.

Disgusting. That's more than I earn a month.

Slightly OT, but what what if, or when, will a player publicly say, no thats obscene, I'm happy on £1m a year, I just want to play for the club . . . .a 2-3 year contract sets any normal person up for life.

There are players out there who redirect income , I think Sane does for example. What do they do with all the money ? most of them can't even count that high!

But how does 'I only want to earn £1m anything else is obscene' square off with X club making £1m a day selling you around the world?

Earning £2M-£3M to set you up for life isn't very ambitious is it ?

**** knows, but hopefully days like these for teams like those are coming to an end. soonest!

Deffo.

I'm sure when my talent is finally recognised by the Albion, granted they are leaving it a little late, I too would take the Ian 'Where Do I Sign' Wright approach to contract negotiations.

But for it to come to an end an awful lot of money needs to come out of the game, again no bad thing.

Or else we are straight back to the days of players earning feck all and Chairmen/PetrolChemical States earning billions off the back of them.

As obscene as it is, I'd still rather Bale was screwing over Real, than t'other way round.

Well I like his stance, the club and it's prosperity is more important than any prima donna . . . . Which also ties in nicely with the no dickheads policy and cements the fact we'll never get Neymar, thankfully.:lolol:

I don't really see it as Bale screwing anyone over – he was offered the contract and he agreed it. The fact that managers don't play him is not his problem – the club has messed up royally in tying him in and then not using him.

I could understand it a little bit more if he was constantly injured or absolute bobbins, but he is neither.

It's the market rate for the job, isn't it?

If you're recognised as the best at flippin bugers you'll get bigger bucks in your specialist area, footballers are no different. Many of them do a great deal of good with their income helping those less fortunate and supporting some great social projects, many of them, however, buy bright Yellow Bentley's, expensive watches, tonnes of coke and waste the rest on hookers!

We'll see what a dick head Bale is later today, playing for his country.....

I rather like him. How anyone with half a brain can survive at Real or Barcelona with their ludicrous attitude to their football pompadour is beyond me. It ain't football. It's entertainment for people with the mentality of Louis XIV. Entitled knobshites.

Come on Wales - give us a goal. Bale has got a foot like a traction engine. ****!

I hope Gareth is able to get by on the £600k a week that he is now on.

Let's be honest, I think we'd all struggle.
You know how hard it is to land a helicopter on your Lamborghini while stashed off your head on coke?
