Both of whom are receiving at least £8M in parachute payments THIS season from the Premier League's "Closed Shop" fund, this about the same as our total match-day ticket income last season (av gate 26,237).
Having posted a £14M+ operating loss last season, that the Chairman has funded, it may well be that the Board has decided that some or all of the fees from Bridcutt, Barnes etc transfers is going to reduce this. Who knows but the Chairman's stated objective is that the club should be self-financing at the Amex based on a 5 year plan?

Fair point, but it doesn't take away from the fact that we have sold/let go two influential players from earlier in the season and not replaced them. I totally get the need for self financing but my point was about the policy rather than the money - Stephens and the various loanees were not what we needed to replace two attacking players who at least scored some goals.

That's one of my main problems with him.

No matter who he changes, the players we can afford, ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH to play his system. It doesn't work.

Ulloa, Buckley, Lingard, Lua Lua, Lita, Barnes (cough), March, I'll add Hoskins and CMS, as I think if they were fit all season it would have made no difference and they will not fit into his style either.

That is a strong box of attacking options. No amount of wheeling and dealing is going to improve that line up much for any championship side. We need a manager who can use those players to their strengths. Oscar IMO is not that manager.

You may be right but, how many gilt edged chances have these players missed, chances that other strikers in teams much lower than us put away.
Even under Gus we were not scoring many. Both managers have relied on a good defence and nicking the odd goal. When i mean nicking the odd goal, i mean the chances are created and sometimes we put one away.
Perhaps we need a really clinical striker alongside Leo, instead of loaning a few through the season. We also need a midfielder who comes up with a few, hopefully Crofts can do that next season.

We create more chances than the oppositin 'virtually every gameon in virtually every game, so although it may not be thrilling end to end stuff it's hardly negative.

Do we really create that many more chances than the opposition in 'virtually every game'?!
Maybe simplistic but according to BBC website as a snap sample-
Millwall away - them shots 18 on target 4 BHA 10/2
Reading home - them shots 26 on target 5 BHA 6/1
QPR home - them shots 21 on target 9 BHA 6/3
Tonight them shots 16 on target 4 BHA 9/2

Not scientific but maybe gives the lie to the idea that we create more chance than most other teams!!

And you ignore the rest of the post, and fail to see that there could be anything possibly wrong with a Brighton manager as you ALWAYS do!

I'm sorry is the a rule that i must read and reply to all your posts?...Sorry to break it to you but there are far more important things to do.....and then of course you state that you know what i am thinking apparently....oh and i always defend Garcia?...maybe if you turned up after a few wins/draws you might see it differently...i try to offer an alternative view rather than jump on the bandwagon....as regards to my earlier reply ..i picked out one bit because it was the most obvious ..you stated Ulloa and Lingard would make a lethal partnership....not they might...but as far as you are concerned there is no doubt..which of course is rubbish ..2 quality players (and the jury is out on Lingard as it is on Garcia imho) don't necessarily make a good forward partnership ...because as ALWAYS you seem to think you know best

Do carry on ..but i can't guarantee to reply or read and further comments you make on the matter

He had a bigger budget this season so how can his hands be tied by purse strings ?

Budget does not equal actual so did Poyet exceed the budget last season?
Ulloa's purchase looked to be over budget expenditure authorised by the Board and funded by the Chairman as they perceived we had a decent chance of getting promoted, presumably this was largely based on the then manager's advice.

We're a club that waits 14 years for a stadium, but won't wait one season before passing judgement on a manager? There's some right ****ing idiots here.

we have got to get behind the team and we have got to give oscar time like we did with gus poyet when he 1st came to us

Yep. New manager in a league that he had no experience in. When all said and done we are 3 points away from the play off places with a game in hand.
Just need to put the ball in the net, take our chances, which may not be that many but the ones we do get seem to be very very good chances.

I don't believe that you can divorce business policy and finance if you're going to run a going concern (ie it's self-financing).

No rule at all mate. i wish you wouldn't because you rarely, if ever post anything on here that doesn't just put down other views. IMO Ulloa and Lingard would be lethal. If that all you can pick up on, why bother? I tell you why, its because its the only negative thing you could pick up on in the ten or so points I made. Because that's all you ever do.

You very rarely post an opinion of your own, rather just put others down.

Taking of stats it would be interesting to see how many posts you make that are not quoted, and in direction contradiction of the other posters view.

It fact it wouldn't be interesting, it would be boring.... just like you are.

Hopefully you will ... as you say..... be doing something more important than reading and replying to my post.

But somehow I doubt it!!

One wonders if that chap from Bournemouth would have been an over budget deal...he grabbed a couple tonight

You can tell what type of manager he is , he plays defensive football , and probably the most boring manager/ head coach i have known at the club . what else do you need to know ?

****ing clueless boring football....over rated by many on here....very poor **** off back to Spain you over rated **** ...

Was it a good view of the game where you were sat then?

From where I was sat we played alright, deserved at least a point if Buckley took either of his chances, and a Bruno mistake for their goal.

Silly Oscar for telling Buckley to miss, eh.
