Fascism: For some of the people, against some of the people
Communism: For the people, against the people
Capitalism: Against the people, for the people

Human nature is why Capitalism works and the others don't.

Bevendean has proved his point with the replies so far, I think.

The press are helping polarise debate so that it looks like those of us who think that global capitalism is a busted flush are hippies, Marxists and anarchists.

In reality, this perception is becoming more mainstream and, with every major problem resulting from problems with the finance system, banks, etc, this will increase.

I'd have thought even people working in the City have an interest in the Great and Good creating a system that will kind-of work in the future. Or, frankly, the way we are over-using the Earth's resources, while creating resentment due to the disparities of wealth, will leave us in a proper state!

The system has shown once again where the flaws are...greed and dishonesty.. and people have a right to feel pissed off. Ironically most of those who will be itching to cause riots next week will have not lost a penny in all this because they are probably on the dole anyroad. Really it should be people like my dear old dad who has lost all his money courtesy of Goodwin and his shower of shit at RBS who should be throwing Molotovs at the Banks, but he is just a Joe nobody that no-one gives a shit about and he is too British for all that mediterranean nonsense.

Fair play if people want to show their displeasure at what has gone on but frankly it is bound to deteriorate into violence because of the media whipping it up into a frenzy and all that means is people getting twatted with extendable batons and tear gassed. A better way of protesting would surely be everyone stopping paying their Mortgages until the system sorts itself out.

And I mean EVERYBODY. Lets see them take everyones houses away, and lets see how change would come in about 5 minutes if we all just had the courage to do that.

Civil disobedience rather than violence..Ghandi showed us the way.

Brighton factually.....
a summer of left and right wing riots, blaming each other. When they should be looking at themselves left wing hippies who dont fecking work, and refuse to pay for anything and live off the state, and right wing narrow minded feck ups who blame everyone else for there problems and think the country owe them a living and respect...........Both see violence as a way of getting there point accross......who said violence never solved anything ? because it does and will , but who will win ? my moneys on...............?

lets not forget the G20 meeting is a prime target for jihad attack ! i wonder what would happen if they did blow up heads of goverment from accross the globe, would the protesting left wing hippies cheer !! if they did there would be one hell of a backlash and the right wing would have plenty of fuel for the cause !!

tricky eh

I work in the city but not for a finance company so can I be scum as well ?

I would imagine the scum Daily's will have their reporters out in force - either looking to 'fan the flames of disorder', or produce copy using the old Journo Adage: If it doesn't exist, you have to invent it.

ps I Predict A Diet..................of sprouts; mung beans; organically woven tofu cutlets & lashings of cheap white cider.

The name JON GAUNT springs to mind. You don't get any scummier than that creature.

...This system is falling to bits and WE the taxpayers are propping it up instead of getting rid of it

thats all very nice, but what is your actual propsed alternative? do you have one? or is a march, protest and a bit of a fight next week going to solve all social ills?

i think its being over blown. a lot of more moderate people will be put off going with the promise of such trouble, so those there will be dealt with more forcefully. after being rounded up and kept in a cordon for a few hours they will just want to get home to their mung bean soup and cry to the media about "false imprisonment".

Well, I wash, I'm not a hippy, or an anarchist and I'll be there. Capitalism f***ed the Albion, it's f***ing everyone else (apart from a few greedy scumbags) and it's f***ing the planet. These bastards need to be told, big time. Why would ANYONE (especially from a working class background?) want to STAND UP for them?

Why would you want to be there? You will be faced with row upon row of riot police. You will achieve absolutely f*** all. Except may be smashing up a Mac Donalds. If you want to achieve something put your ideas to those working class people that you support by getting active in their communities

These f***ing communists piss me off, i have been to Russia and seen the effects of Communism they are still around 30 years behind us. If that ever happened here it would be a disaster. Capitalism is the only way, which is why we are one of the richest countries in the world and the tin pot communist countries are the poorest.

Well said, Bevendean. That's the problem. Your dad and many other elderly savers etc have been royally f***ed by the actions of a few, greedy idiots. And there's not a jot they can do about it.

Funnily enough, the poll tax 'riots' happened almost 19 years to the day, back in March 1990. They 'worked' in that the Community Charge was axed soon after (I think). Wonder whether our govts give two hoots about what's happening now, though?

Sadly, campaigns such as those by charities like Save The Children, will be forgotten if there is rioting and whatever on the streets this week. And they have a very good message to get across - Save the Children UK What you can do: Take action

.

Capitalism the only way? tell that to the poorer nations in the world that have been exploited. Communism, capitalism two sides of a very nasty coin

I predict some major civil unrest.
I'm in Essex, but we're on stand-by to come in and assist our London colleagues, should the need arise.

So if you are going, please don't brick / bottle / stone the firefighters. Cos we're just doing our jobs. Ta.

The fact the anti war lot are a major part of it sums it up really.

As much as I don't agree with their cause or like they type of freeloading scumbag that will be involved, I think you've got to have a few riots every now and again, it's just how you get things done.

They do it in france all the time, go for a protest smash a few windows and they're still back at home with their feet up in time for Le Neighbours

Capitalism itself is not the problem. However, the whole idea of "Limited Liability" and organisations being treated as separate legal entities needs to be looked at.

In my opinion, any money paid to directors in bonuses (or any payment made to anyone that is over a "reasonable" level) should be liable to be reclaimed by creditors if the organisation goes into liquidation or receivership. Just having liability to the value of your shares is not acceptable.

Yeah, great. You go and put out the fires then, whilst being pelted with bricks and bottles. My Watch is on stand-by to go into east London on Wednesday and my girlfriend who is 4 months pregnant with our first baby is worried sick.
