I was Team AJ, but he's just devoid of the passion that is needed to keep me onside. He is just so bland. Fury, although clearly an extremely flawed character, has delivered a level of excitement and fighting heart that has won me around.

If anyone can do it, AJ can, that's why he's former 3 belt and peoples champion. I still think if he fights his fight and uses his physical attributes in the rematch he wins, he's a quick learner. Then surely we would get the dream fight, hopefully in the UK, 90%+ of the audience cheering on AJ, would be a great spectacle.

Wilder would destroy AJ within 2/3 rounds. 90% of fans will be pro Fury.

Fury is a real fighter , i think he beats all heavyweight in recent times apart from Ali , Frazier , Tyson and possibly Lewis although i think he probably beats him ....6 ft 9 in 19 stone ....the guy is a beast and he has ticker....have you read back to the days of old when heavyweights were 14 stone...?

My experience too. I've always struggled to take to AJ. Not sure what it is that makes him the people's champ. The majority I speak to are pro Fury

Fury has never been "chiselled" in the classic sense in his entire career, but it never affects his performance. You look at the physique of Frank Bruno and you'd think he'd be indestructible, but Fury would absolutely dismantle him (as did a 'softer' looking Tim Witherspoon back in the day). And lets not even go into the AJ-Ruiz zone, where the bodybuilder got splattered by the Burger King.

I do agree, Fury looks far from a top athlete. But it takes more than having a six-pack to be heavyweight champion of the world. Ask George Foreman. So there's hope for us all

Can’t see anyone out there getting near him for at least 18 months, Usyk, Whyte, even Dubois or Joyce, it would be a short nights work given his power and size.

I think with AJ you get the cross-over support, he was an Olympic champion, has more casual support and is well know by the general public not just boxing fans. He's been better promoted throughout his career and you see him on posters, advertising under armour etc. He's definitely a bigger draw overall in the UK.

A month ago that was probably true.

Now tickets for Fury's next fight, if at Wembley or somewhere, will be the most sought after boxing tickets for a long time in this country

I'll be interested to see what advertisers now think of Fury. Advertisers and the establishment generally. Will he feature in the honours list? Will him and SPOTY embrace? Is he still viewed as too volatile?

A huge amount of boxing fans got massively tired of the rubbish from AJ vs Wilder, will they, won't they.
Then the loss to Ruiz didn't help.
And then Furys dominance over Wilder in the first 2 fights.

Then AJ's loss to Usyk, quickly followed by possibly the greatest heavyweight fight of the past 20 odd years in Wilder Fury 3.

I imagine AJ has a decent casual following, but Fury is by and clear the top dog in heavyweight boxing and has huge audiences in both the UK and North America.

Fight at wembley between the two and i think it'd be fair to say the support would be pretty evenly split.

I actually admired him and Lewis Hamilton taking such a high profile stance. Yeah BLM as a political organisation are a bit at the lunatic fringe, but taking the knee and high profile sports people speaking out has nothing to do with the questionable political oganisation imho.

Full kudos to AJ. Or are you talking about the doctored BS that was attributed to him?. Im sure we both agree that racism is outrageous in 2020/21.

On that point (and admittedly, I know nothing about boxing) - but was Fury carrying a lot of surplus fat around his mid-rift? He's only 33 but he seemed to have acres of middle-aged spread for someone in elite fighting condition. Obviously it didn't hamper his stamina. as he went 11 brutal rounds and seemed to be getting stronger as the bout went on, but he appeared to be carrying a lot of additional weight in an area of no obvious benefit to a fighter.

Brilliant fight strategy from Fury. Every ounce of that extra weight was used to demoralise and weaken Wilder. By round six he was done and Fury slowly took him apart. I'm surprised the corner/ref didn't stop it sooner. Epic fight.

Id really like to see Wilder fight someone decent before working out how monumental an achievement for Fury these trilogy fights were, because apart from 2 fights against an aged Luiz Ortiz with high blood pressure (where he was pretty much outboxed for most of the fight) he's fought literally nobody!
