This season, 25 points are in the bag after 11 games as of October 17th.
Last season, it took us 25 games- until Chris Hughton's first league game in charge- to reach the same figure with a 1-0 win away at Charlton on January 10th.

After 11 games last season, we were in 19th place with 11 points after a 1-1 draw with Watford, 4 points above the drop zone and 10 off Norwich in 1st, whilst eventual winners Bournemouth were 11th with 15 points.
On a side note, Stockdale, Greer, Dunk and Bruno were the only players that were in the starting 11 against Watford that also started against Leeds yesterday.
After six away games, we are now one win short of equaling the number of wins we managed on the road in all 23 away fixtures last season.

This thread is getting really interesting now (for me at least).
Tonight's win sees us move up to 28 points from 12 games.
Last season, it took us until our 27th game to reach the same total with a 3-2 win at the Amex against Ipswich on January 21st.
Tonight's win was our 8th of the season - our 8th win last season came in our 33rd game in a 2-0 win over Leeds.
That win over Leeds was our 5th home win of the season, and tonight was of course our fifth home win of this campaign. We only managed 6 in the whole of last season...
We are now 80% of the way to equaling our total number of wins from last season (10) and just under 60% of the way to reaching our points total from last season (47).
And finally, it took last season's league winners Bournemouth 16 games to reach 28 points.

- We now have more points (28) than Blackpool earned in the entire 46 game season last year (26).
- Last years promoted teams , after 12 games, were Watford , 1st, (24 points), Norwich 4th (21), Bournemouth 9th, 18)
- Our 12th game last season was the home defeat to Boro. 2 more draws and a defeat followed before we finally chalked up our 3rd win of the season in Game 16 at Wigan.

We were 25/1 to win the championship at the start of the season with Bet365. We're now 4/1 joint second favourites with Derby (after Middlesbrough)

A third of the way through the season and we're two-thirds of the way to equalling our points total from last season. Oh, and we are still unbeaten..
This time last season, we'd already lost 6 times and only won twice. After 15 games we had accumulated a somewhat modest 13 points (21st), whilst we currently stand 18 points better off on 31 (3rd).
Watford were top with 29 points, whilst eventual winners Bournemouth were just hitting their stride, beating us 3-2 at Dean Court to move up to second with 27 points.
It took us until our 31st game to reach 31 points last season- coincidentally with a 0-0 draw away at Sheffield Wednesday- on February 14th.
This time last season, we'd already lost 6 times and only won twice. After 15 games we had accumulated a somewhat modest 13 points (21st), whilst we currently stand 18 points better off on 31 (3rd).
Watford were top with 29 points, whilst eventual winners Bournemouth were just hitting their stride, beating us 3-2 at Dean Court to move up to second with 27 points.
It took us until our 31st game to reach 31 points last season- coincidentally with a 0-0 draw away at Sheffield Wednesday- on February 14th.
This was also the last time before yesterday that Sheffield Wednesday failed to score at home.

Today's win over MK makes it 9 wins this season from 16 games, leaving us one win short of equalling the number of wins we managed in all 46 games last season.
Our 6th home win of the season equals the number of home wins we managed in the whole of the last campaign.
It took us until the 21st February last season to reach 34 points: a 4-3 win at home to Birmingham, thanks to braces from Teixeira and Calde, notched up our seventh win of the season.
This was the 32nd game of the season, so we're literally doing 100% better than last season at the moment (debatable stat).
This time last season we were in 20th spot with 16 points after a 1-0 home win against Wigan, whilst Bournemouth had just climbed to top spot on 30 points.

Today's draw at Burnley brings up our 35th point from 17 games. Despite our current spate of draws, we are averaging 2.05 points a game. In comparison:

As you can see, if we were to continue at this rate for the rest of the season, we would have enough points to have been promoted in all of the last 5 seasons (winning the title in four) as well as making the play-offs comfortably in all of them.

At this stage last season after 17 games, we'd just notched up our 18th point of the season with a 3-3 draw at Carrow Road as Gary Hooper put in a late equaliser to deny us the win. Only 3 of the players that started that game (Stockdale, Bruno and Greer) also started today.
Perennial bottlejobs Derby led the way at this point on 32 points, with eventual champions Bournemouth just behind them in second on 31. Eventual runners-up Watford were in 5th on 29 points whilst the other promoted side, Norwich, were down in 10th on 26.
The 35th point last season came with a 2-0 win at home to Leeds in our 33rd game on February 24th thanks to goals from Sam Baldock and Inigo Calderon (FACEGOAL).
Oh and we're now 74.46% of the way to equalling last year's points tally

Can't pay too much attention to points per game considering there are five teams averaging two a game pretty much. Just need a gap to open but between 6 and 7. Beating Birmingham would be a good start.

After today's 3-2 win over Charlton, we have accumulated a MAMMOTH 41 points from 19 games, leaving us just 6 points from our total for the whole of last season.
In Leicester's runaway league win back in 2013-14, where they went on to rack up 102 points, they only had 38 points after 19 games.
At this stage last season, Derby led the way on 35 points. Eventual champions Bournemouth had 33 and promoted sides Watford and Norwich had 32 and 27 respectively.
Albion meanwhile had just slipped into the relegation zone on 18 points after a 2-1 defeat at home to Fulham. Our record last season was W3 D9 L7, this season it's W11 D8 L0.

43 points from 21 games it is. Despite losing 4 points from winning positions in the last two, we're doing alright compared to last season.
After 21 games last season, we were in the drop-zone on 18 points after that horrific 1-0 defeat at home to Millwall in what was the most toxic atmosphere we've had at a home game in recent years. I think this was the point where we collectively acknowledged that Sami was guaranteed to take us down to League One.
Our 43 points would've had us 4 points clear of leaders Bournemouth at this stage last season, who were on 39 points, ahead of Boro on goal difference. Derby and Ipswich followed on 38 whilst eventually-promoted Watford were in 6th on 35 points and Play-Off winners Norwich were on 33 points in 7th.
