Brighton, England
goodbye fruty! Really wish that it worked out as I thought he was one of our best players on his day, will never forget the promise he showed at West Ham in the first half, really got up for the game and showed his flair!

Loft tries where as .

I think most players try, Mayo tries - doesnt mean they are good enough.

But since a large amount of Brighton fans turn on players with flair for some unknown reason the tem is full of low skill triers with the exception of a couple.

Read my post again.I'm refering to Loft and Frutos not most players.Loft has shown determination, effort etc to try and be a regular squad member.Frutos on the other hand doesn't want to be here. Was Frutos that good then? Do you remember Peter Smith in his first season? Got the player of the year award i think and looked a real decent find. After that he was a pile of shit.Reminds me of Frutos but Smith had a much better first season then the Frenchman.I'm glad his gone.Very direct player whos main attribute was the power he got behind the ball.Apart from that he was pretty useless. His sending off last season about sumed him up.

Loft tries where as Frutos has just been a total waste of space. He couldn't track back to defend.Glad another shit player is off our books. He clearly doesn't want to be here. You seem to slag players off quite alot.Loft El-Abd,even Wilkins etc
You think Wilkins just gave up? Like what another poster has said. You talk bollox 90% of the time.Wilkins has decided to keep some of these average players, whether it's the right decision or not at least back the manager and players who still play for this club instead of your constant shit you spout against them.

has wilkins actually TRIED to get the best out of frutos? i hardly think 10 minutes here of there, or one start every 3 months gives a player the opportunity to get a run of form together and show what they can do does it? and how exactly do you know he doesnt want to be here? have you asked him?

its not the fact that we have let frutos go that bothers me. it is the fact that we now have a striker in forster who can put the ball in the back of the net should he get the service - something than an on-form frutos can provide. if we have the likes of tommy fraser playing wide this season then forster is going to be pretty much wasted

Falmer, soon...
Undoubtedly a good technical player but the problem as always with Fruity was that he used to completely switch off defensively.

Not really what you need when you're relying on <insert name of current comedy left back here>

Well I must have forgotten about it by half time of that game then, cos I thought pretty much the whole team was a shower of shite that day. I;m struggling to remember a thing Frutos did at Upton.

He's only been his manager for nine months, so no, obviously he didn't bother his arse at all...

Yes, Frutos on his day can supply good passes 'on his day', but then so can virtually all the other players 'on their day'. It's just that 'Frutos' day' was probably quite a while ago.

It is a shame to see him go, because we all thought that there was more from him to come. Wilkins, who let's face it, is in a better position to judge than most, on balance didn't think so. Or if he did, it wasn't as much as Frutos himself thought he could. So, he's packed his bags and gone to look for work elsewhere.

Bon chance, M. Frutos.

what i meant by that was that while other players who have been below average this season, such as fraser on the right (who admittedly wasn't helped by being played out of position), have got decent runs in the team, frutos was never given the chance to have five or six starts to at least try and find some sort of form

early on this was understandable as cox was on fire, but as his form tailed off towards the end of the season and he could of done with a rest, this would of been the perfect time to give frutos a run of games

I think you'll find that Jake is being played on the right and Cox on the left, both of whom are getting the crosses in.

Spot on. It's no coincidence we've only won four league games that Frutos has played in. Lazy player happy to pick up his 2 grand a week for no end product. Darren Currie is 5 times the talent Frutos is.

one of the arguments against frutos was that he wasnt defensive enough, yet robinson would be even less effective in terms of defending

He was overlapping with Whing very well.

what about defensively? as in tracking back, making tackles and generally helping out?

if robinson improved his defensive game, then he would make for a very decent wide man given his pace, skill and ability to cross the ball. the only concern would be that he is a bit lightweight, but if he showed the aggression that cox does then that wouldnt be too much of a problem either

I've only seen two friendlies and, accept that it is non league opposition, but he is doing that. Whether it carries on into the season is another thing.
