RIP a very good manager who we lost too soon. While here he changed our strip to all white, with blue edging, allegedly because he wanted us to be and play like Leeds.
Christ!! - I thought you meant the NSC poster at first. Yes, sad to hear he passed away. I started watching BHA with Archie Macauley as manager then Freddie took over in 1968ish.
The first Manager of my Albion watching career, RIP
I was one of the fans who abused the Chairman when he was sacked.
R.I.P Freddie God Bless.

Me too - boxing day 1967 vs Gillingham.
RIP
Freddie took us from a poor team heading towards relegation. he brought in the likes of Alex Dawson, Nobby Lawton & Willie Bell before building with players like Eddie Spearritt & Peter O'Sullivan (think that was FG but gone before ever played).
Blimey, there's false memory syndrome about
FG wasn't sacked: he was poached by Birmingham. He didn't introduce the all-white strip - that was Pat Saward in the 1970/71 season. He wasn't in charge on Boxing Day 1967, he didn't take over until October 1968 and he didn't sign Nobby Lawton, that was Macauley

You are correct. It was probably his only mistake as our manager.I've got the same memory as BG that it was Freddie Goodwin who had the strip changed to all white as he played for Leeds and had an admiration for Real Madrid. Possibly it came in after he left but I'm sure he instigated it.
