Betting suspended on De Boer taking over.

Looks like our Palace friends have already updated his Wiki page the scamps.....

Franciscus "Frank" de Boer (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈfrɑŋg də ˈbuːr];[2] born 15 May 1970) is a Dutch football manager and former player.

A former defender, De Boer spent most of his professional playing career with Ajax, winning five Eredivisie titles, two KNVB Cups, one UEFA Cup and one UEFA Champions League. He later spent five years at Barcelona, where he won the 1998–99 La Liga title, before retiring after short spells at Galatasaray, Rangers, Al-Rayyan and Al-Shamal.

He also hates Brighton Scum.

Had a very good league record at Ajax but had an incredible team. His inability to make any sort of progress in Europe with the likes of Alderweireld, Van der Wiel, Vertonghen, Eriksen, Blind, Cillissen, Bojan and Malik at his disposal raises questions marks over his ability to me.

Can't deny that it is an exciting appointment if true.. no guarantees it will work but will enable them to possibly retain good players in the short-term at least, or attract some quality from Europe on his reputation alone.

Wonder how much you have paid in desperation money for him! What happened to Dyche, apparently you are a much better option than Burnley :lol::lol::lol:

Dyche was widely reported to be very interested in the job, but Palace preffered Pellegrino or De Boer. If Frank turns us down then Dyche would likely be Plan C.

of all the candidates he was the one I hoped wouldn't get it.

Good appointment you have to say.

Its the law for Palace to be ahead of us anyway lol

We would get 7th Prem , they would get 3rd.

Our stadiums is better though.

Wipe mouths and move on.

This would end a great run of very dislikeable managers;

Ian Holloway TOSSER
Tony Pulis DULL
Neil Warnock - debatable, have warmed to him, but he does look like an old Eastern European woman.
Alan Pardew TOSSER
Sam Allardyce TOSSER

Shame.

Decent appointment if true.

Not sure how much of the Inter fiasco can be placed at his door; the club was (and is) something approaching a basket case. If you're managing Ajax all you can reasonably be expected to do is dominate your division and he did that. As well as this he's got a 'philosophy' and it favours creating situations where direct wingers are in 1 on 1s against full backs. Basically Wilf is a dream de Boer player.

Must be serious wedge though.

Sam Allardyce will be hired again for the second half of the season to save them at a cost of a further £3m, for another couple of months work.
You'd probably need Sam first .
