Not much on here discussing his contribution last night. What did you think? He goes from the sublime to the ridiculous. Just when you think he looks like he's yards off the pace, he outpaces a defender with ease. Then you think he's got into a dangerous position with some crowd pleasing hard work, and he gives the ball away.

I'm still not convinced he's up and running yet, and when Murray came on for him, we looked far more threatening.

thought he was pretty shit to be honest, bar the hunting down of the keeper in the second half which nearly lead to a goal

summed it up in the first half when bennett (i think) was right next to him, simple pass needed, but he just decided to knock it to one of their players

no question that murray should be starting on saturday

It was KLL, not Bennett, and I sympathised with Sandaza there. Why the f*** did Lua Lua stop running when it was obvious Sandaza was waiting for the overlapping run?

Think he needs Murray alongside him. Barnes and Sandaza want to be in the same positions and neither links the midfield to the front line. would be very harsh to drop Barnes though so its bench for Sandaza and hopefully he will be our super sub

agree with that.

Sandaza will feed off Murray just as Barnes currently does.
He has had a long time without games so needs time to be at his best.
At the moment he shows glimpses that are very promising indeed and coming off the bench, unless Ashley is injured, will bring us a few potentially crucial goals

i thought he did ok tbh, considering he is recovering from double hernia and is not fully fit he ran his wotsits off, got into some decent positions. ok, some of his passing wasn't upto much but its early days and personally I saw a lot of positives from fran the man last night

Here we go again. The bloke's only played a handful of minutes for us and is obviously still getting to know his teammates yet despite bagging us a last-minute winner you can't wait to slag him off. Do you just go to games so you can wait for a new player to make a mistake just so you can say 'see, I told you he was shit'? FFS, give him a chance to settle. His record says he can bag a goal every other start so at worst he should be a supersub, at best he could really provide our two main front men with some serious competition.

even if he had have kept running, im not convinced the outcome would have been any different as the pass was played with so little conviction

poyet seems to think he is a sort of fox in the box type player, yet last night he did most of his work outside of the box. i dont think that has helped him out really, and it will be interesting to see how he plays off of a target man like murray rather than trying to be the target man himself

thought he was poor at plymouth and poor last night - jury very much still out

Should some quality movement that suggests he has a football brain, but also should some moments that he has a strikers brain.

When he is fully fit and used to playing with the team we shall see more from him.

Murray and Barnes to start on saturday

We all know he is not the finished article yet, he has had a long injury, has to adapt to League 1, has not really had a pre-season like the rest of the squad and i saw some of his off the ball movement last night and was impressed, LuaLua needs to read the game more sometimes and use the pass rather than the shot when he destroys the defence, Sandaza was in a great position twice last night to latch onto a cross that did not come as was Barnes. I would give him a month then see how he improves.

Talking to Charlton fan this morning about their result. Their winner was scored by Paul Benson, a player they have been after for a while and they paid money for. Last night was his first goal for them. He still thinks that Benson is not much cop. Looking at things from that perspective it would seem rather hasty to dismiss Senior Sandaza just yet.

I think he'll become a super-sub, someone to come on for Barnes for the last 10 minutes as a throw of the dice.

Last night suggested Barnes and Sandaza don't have the correct attributes to work together as a partnership, so back to Murray & Barnes with Sandaza coming on for Barnes if needs be.

This.

His Passing was woeful, his dive on the halfway line shocking, but he did run close players down which i liked. Dont think he will be the greatest of players for us, but not the worst either.

Didn't see any sublime. The best I saw was good. Mostly it was below the standard the rest of the team are at.

Its all very well if he is an expert finisher but in games like last night we need more

Not good enough to start ahead of Barnes or Murray

Yet

A bit harsh I think. Still early days & it was his first start.
Barnes could have scored at least three times yesterday & four times on Saturday - but of course scored just once.

Sandaza has had less opportunities in the one & a third games that he has played. He had one chance that I remembered last night.

Its Barne that needs to finish the end result.

On one hand, I think it was too soon to start him, on the other he needs starts to get up to speed and it looked like a game in which we could carry so can understand the decision.

I think it is too soon to pass judgement on him because he's not up to fitness, but also, because he hasn't had much game time with Barnes and/or Murray to form any sort of understanding with them, so kept getting in Barnes way.

Would have been a very different review if he'd scored that header, his last contribution before coming off.

Get the feeling he'll go missing for long periods, be a bit frustrating, but will snaffle chances that fall to him. Just need to wait for him to get up to speed I think. Stay with him he could be a great signing.
