that sums it up for me. He looks like a different type of animal to barnes and murray, and therefore gives us a bit of variation. In the cold months when we are up against teams of big lumps with weak refs when we have to play a bit scrappy/dirty to get results he will no doubt come in handy being able to pop up in the right place and toe-poke winners.
As a previous poster said - if gus sees something there, then there's something there.
Barnes looked better alongside Murray (why on EARTH was he dropped to the bench?) and prior to that he and Sandaza had pretty much failed to pull the defence out of position at all.
Barnes was the better of the two by a long way and should keep his place alongside Murray - who is our top striker by about a million miles and integral to the way we play.
