The quiz night was excellent last time, APART from the cricket bat debacle.

I'd be interested in another one of them.

Fans and Bands would also be good.

Straight donation? Probably not.
That wasn't a debacle - no-one wanted it. Or rather no-one was prepared to bid for it.

Bloody cheapskates.

oi oi....revisionist alert.

What you said was "the bat is in the raffle"...." then it was changed to " its worth motre than a couple of raffle tickets, therefore we will hang on with it to be auctioned"

That never happened!

Or that is how I recall it anyway ALAN

I DID auction it there and then, and no-one bid for it - in fact it was a tumbleweed moment. I think someone said 'wait til the end of the season'. It was probably worth a few quid in September, but I guess value is rapidly falling now. I also auctioned a signed Seb Carole Albion shirt, which went for £50.

So do I start the auction here to culminate at the quiz night? Or only do it on the night, thereby ONLY allowing quiz-goers to bid?

Oh, and any suggestion on the venue?

The Duke of Wellington is very Albion friendly, but not sure if its layout would be great for this.

Other than that the usual suspects with rooms to rent (King and Queen, Nelson etc).

Although the downstairs of the Park View would probably be OK for this. Not far from Preston Park and London Road station and free parking for those that do have to drive.

Too f***ing right we weren't after YOU'd made a huge f***ing deal out of us buying loads of raffle tickets to win the thing!

Buy loads of tickets, win this great bat you said. So we bought loads of tickets and THEN you say, oh maybe I'll auction it instead.

FRAUD that's what that is!

try the Old Ship again.....that was fine and the accoustics were good.

I would ban MOH and Gwynlan as they brought in some ringer from the London Quiz League and subsequently won easily!!!!

I will offer £25 notes for the bat......BTW Is it a proper usable bat, as mine is 15 years old and showing its age( a new slazenger is £199, so a sussex bat for £25 would be job done! cushtie)
