I never rated Young particularly but he certainly was an old style centre forward. Alex Dawson was the finest exponent in an Albion shirt of the -rarily seen nowadays- art of removing an opposing goalkeeper of his consciousness.

Sammy Morgan could do it occasionally but the game was getting softer by then.

They sure did, and it was raining. There were no Pompey fans left so it was just done to annoy us. Didn't Mark Hately score 3 or 4?

There were Pompey fans left. They were behind the away terrace, throwing stones at us. What a terrible day that was. As somebody else rightly points out, we were 1-0 up and getting quite excited, before Willie Young turned in the WORST 45 minutes I have ever seen anybody have in a Brighton shirt.

We were HUMILIATED that day. No bones about it.

Crap centre half displays seem the norm at Fratton. Remember Guy.

I know he got better though. Young didn`t.

Peter O'Sullivan? Played in the same era as Ward and Mellor. Curly haired, and very skilful if my memory serves me correct?

Action pic of AD, the 'Busby Babe'/'Black Prince of Deepdale', during the 1958 FAC semi-final vs Fulham in 1958 in which he scored a hat-trick for Man Utd. I think he's still the last player to do this.

We all called him the ''Black pig'' when we were kids............................ he was a looker though.

Made Andy Gray look a wuzz when he put his nut where others would never put their boot. I loved the man.
