If you seriously thought we had a chance of keeping Wayne Bridge without getting promoted..... then I don't know what to say. There was no way we could afford him without the premiership.

If you know WB didn't go just for the money and went because he have no manager, then please prove it. Otherwise stop spouting rubbish. :nono:

Why do people keep asking everything to PROVE something the may not agree with.

Its an internet forum matey. It's opinion's. Stop spouting this prove it crap.

If everyone had to prove everything or opinion they out on here or any other forum, they may as well all be closed.

All I'm saying is you don't KNOW that WB left us for just one reason, i.e. the money. You're entitled to your OPINION, but you state it like it is FACT. You might be right, but I might be correct in saying, IMHO, our current managerial turmoil has had a bearing on WB's decision. You obviously can't prove what you saying is true, so you were spouting utter gash.

i was told by a brighton scout that bridge only came to us because of poyet. so i think it is very important to have manager in place. if poyet was still an active manager perhaps bridge would have stayed!!

But that was when Man City were paying most of his wages so wherever he went he'd still get his 90k per week. Now he isn't just picking a manager, he's also picking a new wage. 'Gus (a manager who has not yet won promotion to the prem) + 15k per week' now might not be as enticing as 'Gus + 90k per week overall, and the opportunity for a big fat signing on fee when his contract expires at the end of the loan' was last summer. Especially if the alternative now is Adkins (a manager who won promotion his last season in this division, at a team with parachute payments, and promotion/prem experienced players) + 50k per week.

But it is an OPINION. I'm not stating it as FACT am I?
What I am saying is, all things being equal, its highly likely WB went to Reading because, a) Money, b) location.

As I said its a forum. Its opinions. Read things as opinion. If I said, I know for a fact WB went for money, I could accept people telling me to shut up and stop spouting gash, but until I post or read a post that stats a FACT, I'll take it an opinion, and agree or disagree with that opinion.

I notice to cover yourself you've put in your reply IMHO. Well maybe it would suit you better if every post on here had IMO or IMHO. I actually agree with a lot of your posts on here, but if everyones going to go around picking up on something they don't agree with and start quoting postersfor saying things like facts, when they haven't stated its a fact and are expressing an opinion.... whats the point?

If that was the case, maybe he would have held off signing for Reading, as Poyet is only suspended.

my point is that some players want to know where they stand. with all the uncertainty bridge may have chosen reading because he didn't want to wait and see what was going to happen at brighton !!!

i agree with some of that but, reading were the lowest wage payers in the prem and had the payed the least for players. i'd be surprised if reading are paying much more than us. bridge said regularly how much he loved it at brighton and is marrying a pretty rich women, money may or may not of been an issue. but we do know he likes poyet as i have already stated. i cant see reading (especially with that knob as a manager - who was sacked because he wasn't premier quality) being a more attractive prospect than btn. so all i'm saying is that maybe having a manager in place could be benificial.

It is obvious to me that a manager will be one of the key factors in deciding who a player signs for. While we were probably not going to sign Bridge, what has happened with Poyet and the club made certain there was no chance. It is a real shame as he has signed for a team in the same league as us and Gus might just have been able to persuade him. Not blaming either side but it is a real shame to have taken away any chance we had of signing such a great player.
