Again not a football ground, But I love Busch Stadium In St Louis with the arch and Mississippi in the back ground

You won't be surprised for me to agree with you there. That is a fcuking lovely place to spend an afternoon (or evening)

As far as football grounds go, I would love to go to Arbroath. I've driven past a few times and it is right on the beach. Can't find a pic online. Maybe Little Al can help out?

Red Bull Arena - new home of the New York Red Bulls opens March 20th. Red Bulls are not much cop as a team - finished last in MLS last season but I will go to the first game against FC Santos just to see the stadium. As they used to play in Giants Stadium (90,000 capacity) they always looked a bit lost - the new 25,000 seater should suit them better although I think they will struggle to fill it. It should have opened in 2006 and they had all sorts of problems with the authorities - nice to know the Albion aren't the only team having problems with a new stadium.

I was thinking a while back, reiterated by seeing the Falmer site in the sunshine yesterday, that (sssssh, don't tell the village residents) our new stadium is going to be in one of the more pleasant locations as football arenas go.

Ignoring the A27, hidden by trees anyway, if you look across from the Downs, you have views across to Stanmer Park and Ditchling Beacon on one side, from another side Falmer and the pond, and to the south nothing but rolling downland, albeit temporarily dumped full of excavated chalk. The photos people have taken so far from further afield are even more impressive.

So...can anyone think of any stadiums that are actually in nice locations? Most old grounds in the UK are in city centres, surrounded by terraced housing. Most new ones are on nasty brownfield ex-industrial sites (Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Southampton) or ugly grey retail parks (Northampton, MK Dons). What about abroad?

Feel free to post photos of gloriously sited grounds in the Swiss Alps or Scottish Highlands

Craven Cottage is a favourite location. Withdean could actually be good if the railway path was not so muddy and if Withdean did not have a cold and damp micro-climate. The old Highbury was another favourite of mine.

Hates: Priestfield, Kenilworth Road, White Hart Lane ...

This month 'Ground Image Of The Month' features the Caledonian Stadium, the home of Inverness Cally Thistle, this picture was taking by Ewan Clydesdale for his website Pixec in 2004,and shows the ground before it was redeveloped to match the criteria needed after their promotion to the SPL.
The ground sits next to the North Sea,so I can image it'll be brass monkey conditions for supporters at this time of the year.

I dont like Fulham, The area is not designed for football, Not enough room for fans and they have walls all accros the park from the underground to the ground.

lyndhurst, just read up about the RBA, it's in Harrison NJ right? this is a fair way from manhattan and not even on the main NJ island bit, will this affect how many people will go to the games ... ?

saying that, isn't giants stadium in NJ?

Yea - it's in Harrison, NJ. It's better served by public transport than the old Giants Stadium as it's right next to the main train station at Harrison - it'll take about 20 minutes from central Manhattan for $1.25 which ain't bad. Always seemed strange to me that the Giants and the Jets called themselves New York teams but played in New Jersey

The away end used to be naff. I always sat in the stand. Thanks to Jimmy Hill it was ahead of its time way back in the seventies and cheap as well. Perhaps being by the river it was a damp and cold as Withdean more often than not.

Park south of the Thames and walk across the bridge.
