I liked a nice boiled burger at the Goldstone and the Priestfield too I think. Us 70's children were easy pleased !

Don't forget the cherryade in a flimsy plastic cup

How the deuce would you eat that pie and mash in a stadium seat, from a flimsy cardboard half box using a tiny wooden fork... that's going to end up in a lap for sure.

When we played at York many years back you got Pie , chips and Mushy Peas in a cardboard box, that along with Burton away, the best footy food I've had

As on-field events seem unlikely to induce a heart attack, any time soon.
Maybe a munchie box could fill the void.

I'm sure like the majority of other families we never once bought any food at The Goldstone. Why would you need to? Lunch before you go out and tea/dinner when you get home. The modern day requirement for non-stop consumption of drinks outside of the home was also a long way off arriving in those days. With the expected squeeze on incomes then some of those old habits may be about to return.

I've never really understood the need to eat at the Football/Cinema etc - In fact, I had some chips at Pride Park recently because we'd had a beer and been on the march and kind of didn't have an opportunity to eat but outside of hospitality I don't think I've ever bought something to eat at a football ground. I don't have kids though!

Lewes do a great pie, mash and gravy, and Burgess Hill do fantastic chips :p
I do like the pies but before they started doing those(3 years ago I think) they had a really good burger van which is still the best thing I've eaten at a football ground

I don’t remember having anything to eat at The Goldstone, I occasionally bought something at Withdean before an evening match if I had worked late.
At the Amex I very rarely buy food, probably had about 5 pies since we have been there.
