Not in Whitechapel
It’s a shame that account wasn’t around in the Withdean days. It would have great to have a Mr.Whippy pop up amongst the hot dogs, burgers and pies :lolol:

That does sound pretty awful. The pictures on their website suggest they do offer something better, ordinarily. https://www.fgr.co.uk/vegan-food Unless those photos are a little misleading.

Not sure what the deal with coke they served you was. According to the internet, normal diet coke is vegan.
I think it was this…. DB05F3FE-90B4-40BF-973D-D47F8F65A06D.jpeg

Not good.

Two best meals:

Delia’ Christmas Pie at Norwich when we went there a few years ago. Turkey, roast potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, mixed vegetables. Absolutely fantastic

Sheffield Wednesday/ Huddersfield Town Meat and potato pie and gravy. Took me back to my yoof and was so good I grabbed a second one on the way out!

Never been a fan of piglets…either too bloody tepid or gloopy. Not impressed at all.

Oh yes, at the stadium in Denver of Colorado Avalanche Ice Hockey, I had a chilli hot dog which was so bloody awful, I ended up feeling really ill and had a night calling huey and Ralph on the porcelain phone!

Best US food was a philli cheese steak in downtown philli which was bloody magnificent although the dripping fat was artery busting!

They brought that stuff to market for a little while a couple of years ago (maybe more, I have no sense of when things were anymore), I think it was like half the sugar and stevia as a sweetener instead of aspartame etc. Tasted nasty, I assume it's been discontinued.
Yeah this was this season at FGR so it might not have been that, pretty sure it was a black and green can. Whatever it was it was nasty.

Sounds like Green Cola which is Stevia based. I drink this as it is not full of sugar and much better than the aspartame filled diet drinks from most companies.

As for chocolate bacon, you used to be able to get this at Street Diner in Brighton a few years ago as a regulars special from Little Blue Smokehouse. They smoked their own bacon and it was dipped in Belgian chocolate:drool:

Had a fantastic Chicken Balti pie at West Brom, most of which landed on the seats in front, the same with the delicious Balti Pie I had at Altrincham at the weekend, most of that is on the terrace.

Boundary Park, Oldham, 1984.

Pie and a pint, £1.00.

Can’t recall it being particularly bad or good, but at that price, even in the 80s, too good to miss.

Loved having a 99 before kickoff. Best food I've ever had in a ground was around 1990, high up in the Nou Camp - barbecued pork steak in a baguette. I think they still boiled burgers at the Goldstone then.

I liked a nice boiled burger at the Goldstone and the Priestfield too I think. Us 70's children were easy pleased !

Slightly off the subject matter. Watching US detective progs they always pull over and have a hot dog from a kiosk so number one aim when in NYC a couple of years back was to do the same. So disappointed that it was just a hot dog in a roll but cost 5US$. Didn't even see Starsky or Hutch.

I'm loving the Football Scran Twitter feed, showcasing the best and worst of football grub.

As well as the downright deviancy of some American sportsball fayre.

How the deuce would you eat that pie and mash in a stadium seat, from a flimsy cardboard half box using a tiny wooden fork... that's going to end up in a lap for sure.
