I might be wrong but I don't think I've even heard our fans chant that yet, okay we chant 'we are top of the league' etc. but that's a fact. I couldn't believe it when they were chanting and dancing around like that, might be getting slightly ahead of themselves!

Tuesday night at Brentford I'm sure there was a chorus of "We're gonna win the league" - not just going up but win the thing ( which of course we will) so not really any more arrogant or confident than the Stains I suppose?

You mean ... if we score, the goal stands; if the goalkeeper saves it, we get another go? How is that fair, if it's our players who are encroaching (as it was, yesterday)?

No, I mean if their keeper saves it and murray is the first to get to it and scores the follow up it gets retaken because murray gained an advantage from being inside the box when the penalty was taken. If the keeper saves it and holds on to it, the game continues, if a defender clears it the game continues, I think it might even continue if murray is the first to get to it but fails to score the follow up.

EDIT: The law is that it should be retaken if an attacking player encroaches and the penalty is scored, or it is saved and a defending player encroached (or if both encroach regardless of whether it results in a goal or not), but I'm speaking of general application of the law from my own observations. It seems to keep with the spirit of the law (if you cheat at a penalty and don't benefit, why bother making an issue of it? If you cheat and do benefit, action is taken), though isn't strictly keeping to the letter of it.

I'm not saying it isn't arrogant of our fans, but being top of the division since september, 7 points clear of second place with 2 games in hand (as we were on tuesday) is different than 4th place, 2pts below second having not had a consistent place in the division for most of the season.

If BHA players encroach and we score its a retake if we miss it stands. If Tranmere players encroach if we score goal stands if we miss a retake. If both teams encroach as yesterday f..k it just shut your eyes and ignore it which is what the ref did yesterday.

Totally agree really, was just pointing out to the previous poster who commented how arrogant stains fans are singing that they will go up when we're supposedly not even doing that yet.

I only just saw this now, that was astonishingly bad. If the Bournemouth player had his feet planted it could have been a real horror show.

Seriously, its so awful its almost funny. You're right though, if the Bournmouth player hadn't bee up in the air he may have been out of the game for good.
