West is BEST
Just having a corned beef and mustard sandwich on white sliced with a nice cup of tea. I'm really enjoying it but most people I know would never have corned beef on their shopping lists.

I imagine anyone under the age of 30 would scoff at such an old fashioned snack.

Pining for a pickled egg? Penchant for a prawn cocktail ? Loving some liver? What food do you enjoy that people largely shun these days?

Takes me back. My favourite was roast chicken flavour crisps between 2 slices of white bread.

What does it say about me that I had home made soda bread with my tea this evening and not had white bread for at least 15 years. (apart from the fact that I've hardly had any bread for 7-8 years)

Gloucester
Bacon pudding;
Pease pudding and ******s.
(both sadly off the menu now because I've given up eating some of the ingredients)

Edit: F*ck me - the PC bad word filter is prohibitting mention of a good old traditional British dish now! The world's gone mad ................

Raw potato.
Whenever I peel the spuds I always do an extra one and eat it while I work.

Liver and bacon with lashings of fried onion gravy, mash & peas

This - just as long as the liver is very slightly pink on the inside, the mash really creamy and buttery and the peas lightly minted.

Equally I had a duck heart salad the other week - probably the best dish I've ever had - not sure I'm brave enough ( or skilled enough ! ) to make it at home though.

Condensed milk eaten by the spoonful out of the can.

When I used to go round my Grandma's for tea she made condensed milk sandwiches and brown sugar sandwiches. No wonder my teeth are so shot !

Loving some liver?

Yep. Any offal in fact. Liver and bacon with onions, kidney, heart. The things that get starred by NSC's filter (that's a weird one on me too, I suspect it's set by Google Ads but will ask). Yum.

I'd add sweatbreads but they're actually a bit cheffy and desirable these days.

Canned sardines too

I presume the thing that's being started begins with F and is balls of lffal, served with gravy, mash and peas. Another vote for that.
