[Food] Food you love that most people would turn their noses up at nowadays?

Just having a corned beef and mustard sandwich on white sliced with a nice cup of tea. I'm really enjoying it but most people I know would never have corned beef on their shopping lists.

I imagine anyone under the age of 30 would scoff at such an old fashioned snack.

Pining for a pickled egg? Penchant for a prawn cocktail ? Loving some liver? What food do you enjoy that people largely shun these days?

Corned beef, baked potato, coleslaw and pickle is a tea time favourite for me.

Yep. Any offal in fact. Liver and bacon with onions, kidney, heart. The things that get starred by NSC's filter (that's a weird one on me too, I suspect it's set by Google Ads but will ask). Yum.

I'd add sweatbreads but they're actually a bit cheffy and desirable these days.

Canned sardines too

Sweatbreads?
Is that 2 slices of bread wiped under a fat person's armpits and lightly fried.
Sounds yummy.

Not entirely sure if you're been sarcastic but it's sheep / lamb balls. Lovely they are as well.

I'm particularly partial to all manner of offal- heart, gizzards, liver, tripe, you name it. Pig's trotters too. For Chinese New Year I made a banging chicken feet soup that I imagine some would've been squeamish about. The leftover feet were deep-fried the next day, making a delicious beer snack.

I was given corned beef at school . The smell of it used to make me feel sick .

Nowdays corned beef is something that reminds me of dog food , It has a similar smell .

I have a packet of Brains ******s in the freezer. Ready for cold weather when I am cooking for one. This rarely happens, so I may need to manufacture an excuse.
Corned beef ready for corned beef hash when none of the younger generation are about.

Big fan of tinned soup, for a cheap and quick lunch..

Seems to be slowly dying out in the supermarkets,
Being replaced with cartons at 5 times the price.
As a kid, there was no better lunch, than cream of tomato soup, with a crusty roll and butter.
More of a fan of mulligatawny or scotch broth these days.

Re Chicken Feet - the restaurant Interlude serves them deep fried ( without the bones - no idea how ) and they are delicious.

I do most of these delicacies in my cafe.

Liver and bacon with onions is probably my biggest selling dish , after all day breakfast. Bacon and onion pudding goes well as does homemade individual steak and kidney pudding.

I haven’t seen tripe at any butchers for years now, I think I’d have to order it specially, and no one else I know would eat it.
When I was a kid, money was tight for my parents, 6 kids on a farm cowmans wages, so Sunday dinner would often be a roast Ox heart. I imagine I would also have to order it in now, and it would cost a fortune.
Funnily enough, Chicken used to be quite expensive when I was a child, and very much a treat.
