Black jacks, fruit salads, spaceships, gobstoppers etc are still available. There are a number of shops selling these. One in Rye and one in Thanet somewhere. A work colleague used to bring back individual bags of the things when he had been visiting clients anywhere near these shops.

If you go for dinner a Woodies they give you selection of these with the bill. What about United and Trio biscuits, or Yoyo's

abosutely incredable on reflection, I also remember in the 70's a disgusting tasting confection that looked (and tasted) like pubic hair that was served up in a tobacco style pouch

Yeah these they sell but the Five Centres is extinct, BTW there was also one called a Banjo

Space dust - that stuff that crackles like mad in your mouth!! Sometimes we would empty a few packets in and see how long you could kept it going for!!! Every now and again you'd get an almighty explosion and it would hit the back of your throat!!! You can still get it in the retro sweet shops and on the internet.

Great fun and good practice for later life -

Anyone remember the Toffee and Mallow chocolate eggs?? I think they were made by Mackintosh. They were immense, but not seen one for about 20yrs.
