FM10 Demo

i wouldnt use steam its really not very good! normally sigames release their own links of the vanilla (basic) or strawberry (with pics etc) demo, but i havent even bothered to check this year as i cant download at home and iv got it pre-ordered.
not gonna use steam once iv got it either

Now its gone bizarre... suddenly switched to download stopping and giving me a ready to launch in X minutes..... think it might now be working...

Or has my computer been invaded?

Getting very nervous now... has been saying 'starting download' for more than 40 mins now but my green download bar is full on my computer. If it hasnt started downloading yet what AM I downloading? Anyone else had something similar with Steam? Should I log off and start again?

Double click where it says download started, that worked for me.

It came up with another error for me after the download and install bit. I just closed Steam completely and reopened it and it worked!

well theres a bar thats filling up now and saying ready in 30 mins so I think were working now.

Nearly there then! As I said above when I tried to start the game it said there was an error with the demo. Just close and try again if it happens. I hate Steam

Have downloaded the Setup_FM2010_Vanilla_Demo file but now it's asking me what programme I want to open this with?

Right click on the file, click rename and add .exe to the end. Should do the trick.

I'm getting 1.1MB/s at the moment but only just started - has it been slow all the way through your download?

Just me then. It was slow loading up; I didn't even get as far as trying to download through it. I'm downloading the exe from the mirror football website instead.

While I'm on the subject; I can never seem to actually buy or download things directly through the steam software. I use the 'store' tab to navigate to the demo, and click on the button marked 'install demo' and it does absolutely nothing. I've tried to buy things through it before, and similarly nothing has worked; I've had to close it down and go through the normal website instead. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Demo costs nothing so may be worth a go? The new tactics creator makes tactics a lot simpler and the new User Interface is much more user friendly.

I just wish they bundled in an "FM lite" with it and had up to date data with a simple version of the game like the old CM's in the day before te team talk.

To be honest, my previous post was a bit of a lie, tried installing the demo but it crashed on the 'configuring FM to meet your settings' screen, i can only assume it's got too impressive for my laptop (3 years old) now.

Oh well. Not knocking you by the way, you do a sound job. It's just a shame they've moved away from what made it so good (in my opinion), if you signed good players you generally won more often then not, and the only other thing you had to worry about was a basic formation! And it didn't take 3 months of playing to finish a season!

Turkey, it says 22,665 for Falmer in the "Due to move" bit, thought it was 23, 500ish as posted by Ask The Project Team in one thread?

There are 22,665 seats however only 22,500 can be used on match day. Think the ground will show up as 22,665 but will not go over 22,500 which will be considered a sell out.

It should work on your laptop. Can look into it in more detail if you'd like me to (would need to get your specs etc).

A lot of the stuff like team talks you can just ask your assistant to do but I get your point. Doesn't help if you dont have a PSP but the PSP version of the game is very stripped down and designed to appeal to those who want something simpler.

Oh and the game is much faster this year as well in terms of processing speed etc.
