Contrary to popular believe 20,000 leagues under the sea wasn't filmed 20,000 leagues under the sea.

Back to TV I don't believe for one minute that Space 1999 was filmed on the moon.

Wasn't most of at Battlesea Power Station!

It was some derelict site in the Docklands area, just before it got all poshed up. I remember driving past several months after the film came out and all the buildings were still blackened shells from where they'd blown everything up...

"Liverpool" in Educating Rita is Dublin and "France" is the suburb of Dublin I live in (Maynooth).

Wasn't Letter to Breznev also filmed in Dublin. Or to use the title of this thread, FLIMED in Dublin.

Hammer Horror films were filmed at Pinewood not Transvania! This list could be endless.

Wasn't the big Battle in Gladiator filmed in Sussex not Germania?

Gladiator scene was filmed just outside Reading I think.

Also Braveheart was filmed in Ireland and not the land of the Porridgewogs.

My own first appearance on the silver screen was as "small child with others in the distant background" in Tiger Bay (which was also Hayley Mills' screen debut).

The film was set in Cardiff. Indeed, that's most of the point of it. It's about Cardiff.

The bit that I appear in was filmed in Newport. Other bits were done in Bristol.

The battle of Agincourt scene in Henry V, starring Laurence Olivier, was filmed in Ireland not in France.
Not suprising really as the film was made during WWll.

The version of the trenches of the First World War that appears in Oh! What a Lovely War was filmed at Sheepcote Valley rubbish tip, where LDC wanted to put the Albion's new stadium.

I'm fairly certain that none of the "Back to the Future" trilogy was filmed in the future. Or in 1955 for that matter either.

The Bill - not London

but Croydon

Wrong! Just outside Wimbledon (to be more precise if you are driving from Morden to South Wimbledon the building used as "Sun Hill" Nick is on the industrial estate on the RHS just before you approach South Wimbledon. My brother in law took us to see it - most of the police signs are (badly) covered up when not being used for filming.

The land that time forgot was not in actual fact filmed in a land that time had forgotten but the Canary Islands

There is a scene in 28 Weeks Later that is set in Wembley Stadium... but the interior is clearly the Millennium Stadium with the word 'Wembley' added to the seats
