Thank you - love seeing old photos of Brighton although these were clearly taken a bit before my time.

Couple of questions for those old enough :

1. What on earth were flowers of sulphur used for ?

It's used for treating infections in farm animals (and people in former times). I had some in my chemistry set that I had in my teens for any experiments that involved suphur

That's Hodson's mill on West Hill Rd. It was demolished in 1866. I remember it well.
