I have just bought 1 x Large Haddock,2 x small cod 2 medium portions of chips and a mushy pea fritter at Lee's in Haywards Heath and it cost £18.90. I think that is expensive how does it vary around the country. I know last season in Swansea it was £2.50 for fish ( unspecified) and 80p for chips.

ricky lees fish and chips are delightful though - if you flirt with him you are always guaranteed extra chips, and sometimes a pie to go with it

however, jupps in burgess hill is by the far best. chips of the year award a few years back no less!

Last time I had Jupps, when I ran The Cricketers they tasted like they had been cooked the year he won the award.

Lees were good but I am told that the one by Wivlesfield Station is better and cheaper will try them next time.

Fish and Chips used to be a cheap dinner at the end of the week before pay day but not anymore.

the one by wivelsfield station is wank

best in burgess hill is probably fishers, up by the station. never had a complaint about jupps though, and seeing as it is two minutes away then that is good enough for me

Looking at £2.50 for a haddock, and £1.10 for chips (Bloody nice as well).

Had some today, and always go to the same chippy even though it's further away than some others!

Aberystwyth - For those of you who hadn't guessed I'm at Uni there!

Edit: Much prefer Kingfish in HH!

I think the best fish and chips are available from Sporting Colours.....

Failing that, in Burgess Hill, Fishers is dreadful these days and the one Wiv station is fantastic especially for haddock but everywhere seems very expensive these days.

My mum lives opposite Lees, and my girlfriend used to work in Fishers, AND i used to go out with a girl who's surname was Fisher.

I go to Bankers in Hove.

Mermaid in Leeds is £4.10 for proper fish and chips, scraps free. It would probably cost about the same as you paid for yours up there, apart from cod. They don't fry cod unless you order it especially, they feed that to cats or something.

The fish and chips down here are horrid so no idea how much they would cost since we only eat from Mermaid.

yes that is well expensive, say 3.50 - 4.00 quid for chips and fritter, the fish must have been nearly a fiver each!? I reckon you;ve been done

I got a very nice large piece of chicken, some chips.curry sauce, and a large pickled onion for £4.50

Chippys up nort/midlands I find cheaper and better
