It’s essentially a net session they’ve been able to flog corporate tickets for, genius really
If even 'inside edge' Crawley can get 50 I would imagine Brook, Root etc. will absolutely put them to the sword.

Just a pointless game I bet they did not sell many 3rd and 4th day tickets,

One of the most frustrating innings I can imagine.
Score enough runs to guarantee selection.
In a manner that could have seen him dismissed on numerous occasions.
Against an attack that has as much in common with Australia's as I have in common with a leopard seal.

Time in middle needed for the batters that have been at IPL. I'd hope they aim to bat long and get their eyes in (they won't), especially Stokes who has got out poorly in recent (ish) tests.

Going tomorrow, if it gets to a 3rd day.....
Should do if England bat long. I'd push till tomorrow afternoon. If they can't bowl and Irish team with depleted ranks out in four and half sessions, then they don't deserve to win.

He'll need to score faster than that to be sure of his place in this team. :lolol:
Yes, bit worried about his technique against the ball that goes across him. Tends to push out across the line. If I were the Aussies I'd make sure me gully was awake.

As for Pope, he's as good as Root when confident. I just hope he's not the next Hick.

Maybe this is the masterplan behind picking Crawley.
Open the batting with somebody who has so many flaws that the Australians spend all their time going through those, and don't have time to think about any of our other batters.

Given that I'm at a loss to work out why he has had so long in that team, I'm not going to rubbish your theory.
