First - Michael Jackson at Aintree Racecourse, supported by Kim Wilde. I think, at the time, it was the biggest outdoor concert ever? I could be wrong.

Worst - Spandau Ballet at the Brighton Centre. Love them, but they were just going through the motions at the time.

Best - I have to say that Pete Tong Ibiza Classics at the O2 was superb!

1st gig....... Slade at the Dome....1971/2.....cant remember that far back, but as a 16/17 year old, I thought they were awesome.

Worst..... Another vote for Bowie at Wembley, Glass Spider tour, 1987...such a disappointment as it was the only time I saw him and loved his albums.

Best.....Has to be Springsteen at the San Siro, 2003 on the Rising tour. 70000 madly passionate Italians, a wild thunderstorm that flooded the tube and fused
all the city traffic lights... but Bruce played on for 3 and 1/2 hours. Absolutely wonderful
Last night of the Rising tour at Shea Stadium, New York was also up there, also Born in USA at Wembley 1985.
Queen at Wembley 1986 , Kind of Magic tour, supported by The Alarm, Big Country and INXS before Freddie WOWED everyone was also up there...

1st mum took me to see Boney M at the Brighton Centre around 1978

Worst Had to take the kids to see Atomic Kitten again at the centre , just wasn’t a great evening, also took them to see McFly at the cricket ground and quite enjoyed that one


Best is one of two, both in Cornwall

Weller supported by Stone Foundation and the Zombies who must have all been in their 70s but sounded incredible. Weller was on form, someone mentioned Steve Craddock earlier who played guitar for Weller for probably the last twenty years

The second was the Proclaimers on the beach at Newquay

It wasn’t so much an outstanding performance but just a combination of the band, standing on the sand with the tide coming in behind us and a truly amazing summer evening

Worst - ive been taken as an unwilling other half, but I will discount those. I saw the Style Council in Belgium in 1983, when they were just starting out. They were truly shocking. All over the place

Best. I will discount Squeeze - cos I simply love them. So, I will go for Big Country 1983 at the Suite

My daughter came home early hours of New Years Day
She had been to her friends house and they were invited to the her next door neighbours who were having a party
She didn’t know who but said the fella used to be in a band

First is, said quietly, Gary Glitter at the Assembly Hall Worthing 1980
Worst is Human League, supported by Wang Chung, at the Dome, Dec 1981 (Beach Hut was there as well)
And the gig that can't be topped was Bette Midler at the 02 in July 2015, came out knowing I'd seen one of the best entertainers on the planet at the top of her game.

I was also there for the Human League gig on 11th December 1981 and can confirm that it was also my worst. Truly awful! I remember reading a review of an earlier show on the tour that said that Phil Oakey couldn't manage to sing and play keyboards at the same time during Love Action. Exactly the same thing happened this evening too and the two girls must be the worst singers that I've ever had the misfortune of hearing live. I also remember a fight breaking out in the first few rows just in front of me!

My first was Slade supported by the Sensational Alex Harvey Band at the Dome on 6th June 1973. Slade were my favourite band by far as a youngster and the SAHB were great too. The Tale of the Giant Stone Eater remains a favourite album!

The absolute best ever was Bruce Springsteen at the Brighton Centre on 17th March 1981. I feel privileged to have seen him at a "small" venue. The gig at Wembley for the Born in the USA tour was just not the same.

I was at that Bette Midler gig . I totally agree , she was fab and her personality is so funny . One of the best gigs I’ve been to . On a par with George Michael when he opened Wembley stadium.

My first gig was culture club at the Btn centre early 80’s , they were good .

Worst gig was probably Howard Jones a few years ago at the small venue by the O2 . I like Howard but he spent 90% of the gig playing his new album whilst the audience wanted him to play his hits . He is a talent though .

I know it's not really a question but "gig of ups and downs" has to go to Doves at the Racecourse. Doves were superb but it absolutely pissed it down throughout their set and was worse on the walk home and the security were so OTT I thought I was going to a Drill meet up. Certainly the shittest venue and security I've ever seen.

First gig - soup dragons at the event must have been about 1989
I was 16 and we drove down the old A23 from hurstpierpoint sat in the open back of my brothers Toyota hilux pick up, roads were a bit quieter even then.

Worst gig : not had many fortunately but wasn’t impressed by the propeller heads at the original concord, turned up really late and then spent about 45 minutes drumming along to some backing tracks and hitting a few sample buttons.

Best: Chemical Brothers at Brixton academy 1997, they had Sasha as a warm up DJ and the place was packed and in full party mode 2 hours before the main event , I still remember Hey boy, hey girl kicking in and watching the whole of Brixton Academy bounce as one. I’d had some chemicals of my own which also enhanced the amazing experience! What a night!
The queue for the official taxis was mental so we got a dodge cab and the driver couldn’t speak English but knew a bit of french so I had to guide him back to my mates flat with my very limited turnez a doit, turnez a gauche, allez tudoir!

First - Rainbow, Brighton Centre
Worst - A heavy metal band called White Spirit, can't recall who they were supporting.
Joint best - Bruce and the Band at (I think) Wembley Arena around the turn of the Millennium/Madness, '90's at the Centre. A few weeks before Christmas, lots in party mood and they owned the audience and the venue for around 90' - vast amounts of good natured nutty dancing went on as well.

I can’t remember going to a concert [ I don’t go now) when I haven’t taken drugs.... That’s a sad state of affairs isn’t it.

Anyway first and worst is The Who at The Centre in about 1980/81 and the best either Leonard Cohen or The Stones both at the O2

Yeah Feeder were ace. I don't think there was a single person there aged under 30. They pulled my mate because they thought the dog "wasn't sure"
