Surely this must be untrue - please give dates / seasons when this happened.
3 in 4 means playing a match on consecutive days - can't see any league ever being scheduled with that.

I'll call you out on this one - if you can't provide the seasons / opposition / results when this happened, you will forever be labelled a lying bull$hitter - if you are correct, I will apologise.

3 games in 4 days - I say it never happened .... please prove me wrong.

Proved - see below as an example from 67/69

39 12.04.1968 Bournemouth away D2-2 5 43
40 13.04.1968 Oldham Athletic home L0-1 8 43
41 15.04.1968 Bournemouth home L2-3 9 43

Who do you rate higher: Crofts or Towell?
We've seen very little of either over the last 12 months so please be sure to explain your workings ....

I was more concerned over the belief that Holla was a better option than Crofts. If BG hasn't seen a decent performance from Crofts in 12 months, I think we have only seen anything approaching a decent performance from Holla one one occasion.....

Used to play on Christmas Day and Boxing Day a long time back.

If Christmas Day was a Mon or Tues we would have played the Saturday before and then either Saturday after and or New Years Day. As I said one player, who was a lay preacher, refused to play Christmas morning, I think it was Mike Tiddey but I stand to be corrected on the name.

In the role that Ince comes on attempts I am sure Holla is the best option we have defensively. If an attacking option is needed I would go with JFC. Cannot comment on Towell as we have never seen him. Bring back LB to do the job that others try to do.

Any player being available is really good news. To make it sound like bad news is ridiculous.Crofty could even end up playing for Wales next year.

Holla's tackling is very careless / reckless. Not at all well suited to that role, in my opinion.

(Granted, last season a lot of his reckless last ditch tackles, were as a result of being hopelessly exposed by Sami's mental 'system')

I wonder whether Hughton might bin Holla? Probably not, because you can never have too much cover and I doubt we'll bust a gut to get him off the wage bill by replacing him with better. But...he is rubbish. He has played one good game for this club (Leeds away). Apart from that, his tackling is powder puff, he is nearly always totally anonymous and rarely if ever remotely threatening.

With JFC, Ince and Crofts all working hard to break into the squad and all far better players, I seriously doubt (and indeed hope) that we never see him playing for the club again.

I don't really agree about Holla.
The start of last season I though he looked like a very good bit of business, in game and certainly dead ball.

But for whatever reason, almost over night, I completely lost the ability to play football.

He played well with Ince at Ipswich and they never got a sniff of the goal even with Tyrone Mings crosses until Sami took CMS off which allowed them to get forward more and they scored twice. He also is the best set ball player at the club.

Leeds away WAS at the beginning of last season, so we're quibbling over one or two arguably decent Holla performances at most. Since then, he's been pony.

Don't worry though, you'll see it how it is eventually. Probably two years after everyone else like you did with CMS.

Holla can neither tackle nor head.
Ince, bar his error on Saturday is a far greater defender than Holla will ever be.
Seems to me Holla is in the squad for his set piece prowess alone.

I'm interested to know how you have arrived at that conclusion.

Watching him and his delivery when he has played. He has played 200 games in the top flight of Holland and 24 for us so must have something about him and to say Ince is better is a joke. He may have potential but I think he will become a Lge 1 player in the not too distant future. Especially if we get promoted.

Meh. Holla played at Groningen for six years, and they are a club similar in size to us. But his career had taken a massive downturn in fortune - he was loaned out to Zwolle and then Venlo - two small time outfits. Then he was at Den Haag when he signed him, the Dutch equivalent of, say, Millwall.

So say what you want about him playing in the top flight of Holland, but the bottom half of that league is league one standard. It's not necessarily anything to crow about. Sure, if we'd signed him from Groningen, Alkmaar, or Herenveen, I'd have more respect for your point. Even then, Elvis Manu has scored goals for Feyenoord (one of the big 3) in Europe, and he can't get near our starting line up. It's fairly meaningless.

Actually, I'm not saying his set piece delivery is bad (because it clearly isn't) but the best? I'm not so sure. And yes I'd rather have Ince in the squad than Holla.

I'd love to say he 'had it' through till October, but I can't help thinking it was more like September.
The 'it' left him, showing no sign of returning.

Anyone championing Holla over Crofts is a fookin idiot not worthy of typing time.

I agree completely and I'm very glad that Crofty is back with us however, I was pulling your leg as you wrote "But for whatever reason, almost over night, I completely lost the ability to play football"!

That is also true, but my memory doesn't go back far enough to tell you why!
