When Kayal or Stephens have been booked and there is 20 mins left to stop one of them getting a red.

When we are under the cosh and leading by one goal and we want to take a front man off.

When we need someone in front of Bruno to give him a bit more support - something you were going on about for ages when Rosenior was playing full-back.

Crafts is more versatile than any of our other central midfielders, he has more experience too.

It isn't just Crofts anyway, Baldock and Kaz back in training is good news surely?!
You missed the one other vital 'where and when would he be the obvious option' point - when and if either Kayal or Stephens are injured or suspended.

Note to Kaz...

"Oh, and just one more thing, those damned victory rolls. It takes us a long time to train a pilot and your not much good to us smeared across the runway. What if one of your control cables had been damaged in a scrap?. No more. Clear?"

Great news to have Crofts back in contention. Kayal and Stephens have been immense, clearly first choice, but Crofts gives us a real alternative option as we run into a hectic schedule of games. He's a reliable central midfield player who I thought did really well coming on from the bench prior to his injury earlier this season. Chipped in with a fair few goals in Garcia's season as well before he got injured, so that threat would be welcomed back too.

He's barely been off the injury list in the last 12 months

That is my point he will take time and provided Kayal and Stephens come through tonight and Saturday we then have no fixture congestion or run of games until January by which time Towell and possibly others will be avaliable. Crofts has been good for us but after 2 serious injuries will he be the same?

We also play on 26th and 29th December.

Not exactly hectic as in years gone by we played 3 games in 4 days especially at Easter. I must admit however that I had forgotten the game on the 29th home to Ipswich but being a home game would expect us to start with an attacking formation of 2 wide players if they are available, rather than an additional CM.

That doesn't sound like the professional football I know. How many years gone by? I'm still inclined not to believe.

I think it's a little while since games have been played at that frequency and it's a very different game now

You are obviously only a lad as we had a player who was a lay preacher and refused to play Christmas Day. I think it was Mike Tidey so we played Saturday, Christmas Day, usually morning, Boxing Day then New Years day unless there was a Saturday between 26th and 31st October. We always played Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Monday. Granted ut was some years ago.

In the BoB film IIRC the outcome was described as "Strawberry jam on the runway" to a young pilot who pulled off a victory roll manoeuvre over his aerodrome.

Who do you rate higher: Crofts or Towell?
We've seen very little of either over the last 12 months so please be sure to explain your workings ....

Surely this must be untrue - please give dates / seasons when this happened.
3 in 4 means playing a match on consecutive days - can't see any league ever being scheduled with that.

I'll call you out on this one - if you can't provide the seasons / opposition / results when this happened, you will forever be labelled a lying bull$hitter - if you are correct, I will apologise.

3 games in 4 days - I say it never happened .... please prove me wrong.
